The World economy crisis hit the biggest companies in the automotive industry. Town Car was one of the best-selling and most used limos in the USA. However, the decline in sales leads to its final discontinuation in 2011. All fans could assume it is about to happen, since the factory where the vehicle was built, was shut down in 2007. Ever since we expect the comeback of this sedan. We could see 2018 Lincoln Town Car as the limited edition of its successor, Lincoln Continental.
These two cars share a lot in common. Even the name. In the first generations, the car had a name Continental Town Car. Another reason why we believe that 2018 Lincoln Town Car is highly possible, is the rebadging of the MK- lineup. Lincoln already renamed some crossovers, so we have new Nautilus. Also, Aviator SUV returns in 2019, so it won’t be surprised to see full-size sedan MKS. At this point, its successor is Continental.
2018 Lincoln Town Car Spy Shots
Will it be 2018 Lincoln Town Car or MKS, at one point the company is going to rename it. We saw a full-size sedan on streets, covered, but still spied. The only thing we had to find out is when is the rename taking place. Would it be in 2018 or in next couple of years, Lincoln is still not confirming. However, the company is developing the next sedan, and we are sure they will switch things up sooner or later.
Release Date
Lincoln will stick up to its concepts. The refreshed sedan will come during this year. The MKS discontinuation warms up the stories about its return. But, under a different name. Continental is a high-end model. Although luxurious, the carmaker needs less premium vehicle.
Price
The MSRP of the 2018 Lincoln Town Car should be more affordable than for Continental. The flagship sedan carries the price tag of $45,000. So, the Town Car could be under $40,000 as the last edition of its predecessor MKS.
2018 Lincoln Town Car Changes
Well, we can’t expect to see many similarities between 2018 Lincoln Town Car and the last edition in 2011. Modernization is going to change the look of the sedan. So, we will see it leave its traditional boxy look. More rounded edges and aesthetic appearance will boost aerodynamics.
Interior
Inside the cabin, the 2018 Lincoln Town Car will offer the latest infotainment system. The carmaker will borrow it from its parent company, Ford. Its Sync3 is one of the best systems in the industry. Town Car will definitely get the version with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto features. Also, the safety measures are on the highest level.
