2019 Ford Mondeo Facelift
As we already wrote, the 2019 Ford Mondeo will get a more aggressive exterior look. Generally, the changes are minor as the side profile will stay intact. The front end will get a different shapes of headlights that are now more angular. At the back, Mondeo will get a trunk redesign and the taillights are also more angular. Thanks to the numerous trim levels, this car is easy to customize.
First of all, you can choose between the Mondeo sedan and Mondeo Wagon models. Titanium trims are available with 18-inch wheels while the ST models will get more sportier looks and suspension. Opt for the ST Line Edition and you will get more chrome and aluminum materials, and body-colored features such as 19-inch wheels and bumpers.
Interior
As all we have about the 2019 Ford Mondeo is speculations and spy shots, there is no much information about its interior. We can expect some minor changes, mostly in the technology department. The cabin looks good, modern and comfortable, even in the previous model and Ford feels that there is no need for any further refreshments.
Upholstery could get a couple of new colors. However, the biggest changes will be the addition of some new amenities and some optional features are standard now. The infotainment system will remain but it will get an upgrade. Safety features such as lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring and pedestrian detection will be all standard now.
Gasoline, Diesel and Hybrid Drivetrains
Ford Mondeo Wagon and Ford Mondeo Sedan will share numerous drivetrains. The base engine is a 1.0-liter EcoBoost that comes with a 6-speed manual transmission and it can produce up to 125 hp. A larger 1.5-liter EcoBoost petrol engine is optional and it generates 160 hp and it offers both manual and automatic gearbox. Diesel unit is included as well and it is a 1.5-liter Duratorq that cranks 150 hp.
However, the best thing about those two Mondeo’s models is a hybrid drivetrain. Ford decides to mate a 2.0-liter petrol unit with the electric motor and battery pack. This combination can produce up to 190 hp and 130 lb-ft of torque. The mileage figures are not specified at the moment, but we can expect some astonishing numbers in this category.
