The 2019 Ford Ranger is back! As we could read during the last couple of months, the truck will return to the US market next year. It is now official since the pickup saw its debut at Auto Show in Detroit. Whatsoever, many details are not unveiled yet. So, all fans of the Ranger will eagerly wait for next updates. We will follow latest news and reports, so stay tuned for further information.
The truck will land in the mid-size segment. It is smaller than the legendary Ford F-150. It will also get a refresh for next season. However, the 2019 Ford Ranger could steal the show. It is not everything about its return, but also the Raptor model which could follow. All these is enough for us to consider the Ranger as one of the stars of the upcoming season.
2019 Ford Ranger Design
The truck is designed to be stylish, but also to be durable for the off-road ride. We could see this model running in Australian outskirts and finally, we see it landing in the US. The 2019 Ford Ranger is different than its Aussie sibling, but the base is the same. So far, we know that base models will offer steel bumpers and Dana differentials. On upper trims, buyers can see different configurations. And there will be plenty of them. The truck comes in SuperCab and SuperCrew cab design. Furthermore, three trim options are ready for official launch. The base version is XL, the mid-range level is XLT, and premium model is Lariat truck.
Ford Ranger Equipment
The 2019 Ford Ranger already unveiled some of the equipment for the pickup. This vehicle has FordPass Connect service ready for base units. Ranger turns to Wi-Fi hotspot wherever it appears. The area covered by a signal is 50 feet around the cabin.
Drivers will find helpful assistance features. Lane departure warning is almost standard for all vehicles. Furthermore, 2019 Ranger offers improved cruise control, blind spot information, and pre-collision assist.
2019 Ford Ranger Engine and Specs
So far, we only know that 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine will supply 2019 Ford Ranger with power. It is the same drivetrain used by Ford Explorer SUV. There, it can deliver 280 hp. With tuning for the truck, it will probably reach 300 horses. Additionally, it will burst 350 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed gearbox is paired with 4-cylinder unit.
2019 Ford Ranger Raptor with a Diesel Engine
The 2019 Ford Ranger is spied in Australia. Although it is not in plans for the United States, the company could bring it to buyers’ demands. Regular mode already causes a lot of interest, and the Raptor would raise the attention among enthusiasts. It will use a 3.2-liter turbodiesel engine, which doesn’t meet requirements in North America. So, if Raptor wants to appear here, it will have to use either petrol unit or to reduce emissions with some other diesel powertrain.
2019 Ford Ranger Release Date
The 2019 Ford Ranger is official now. It is just a matter of time when it will be available for purchase. Price is not set yet. Nevertheless, it would be surprising if we see this truck over $25,000. In future, diesel variant could be offered to buyers with an even lower price.
