The forthcoming 2019 Ford Super Chief is likely to arrive next year. Ford is slowly moving to the SUV and truck segment, as we already saw the news about killing some of the company’s cars. The new Super Chief will appear with a futuristic exterior design and much-better interior.
The idea of Super Chief started all the way back in 2006, however, this concept has become an F-250 model. Now, Ford’s plan is to establish the dominance in the truck segment, both light and heavy-duty. We can expect a whole new lineup of the powertrains with the more eco-friendly characteristic. The main competitors are Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra and Ram 2500.
Aggressive Exterior
The 2019 Ford Super Chief comes with a monstrous look and appearance. The design is unique, however, some of the styling cues are taken from the famous F-150 model. The body will feature more lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum. Of course, over the years, the styling will depart from the original concept, but on the other hand, the aggressiveness will remain. Moreover, expect much more chrome accents and premium exterior amenities. Its presence is stunning, especially at the front end.
The LED headlights are rectangular, the grille is larger than before and even the front tow hooks are in the offer. Front bumper looks astonishing, an aluminum skid plates are standard, while the rear adds LED taillights, towing hook and manual tailgate. To the sides, chrome door handles are in the offer, just like the 21-inch wheels. The 22-inch wheels are available in chrome and are optional.
2019 Ford Super Chief Interior
What we expect from the 2019 Ford Super Chief to deliver is a comfortable and subtle interior. The cabin now offers more amenities than before. Leather seats with the contrast stitching are available and the comfy ride is guaranteed. The seats add a heating and cooling options and the front seats are offering a lumbar support. Standard features are better than ever and that includes navigation, tri-zone climate control, and latest infotainment touchscreen. Moreover, the new audio system is in the offer, just like the numerous USB ports and Bluetooth.
New Super Chief will also come with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as an optional feature. The interior comes with a lot of stylish designs and shapes and plenty of wood and chrome materials. Cabin is quieter than before thanks to the heavier use of the insulating materials. Moreover, the cabin can accommodate up to five persons and the legroom is ample. Safety rating is better thanks to the inclusion of the adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring.
Eco-Friendly Tri-Flex V10 Engine
The Ford’s latest pickup truck will arrive with a powerful engine that can run on three different types of fuel. A 6.8-liter V10 is capable of running on an E85, Ethanol, and Hydrogen fuel systems. As a result, the truck reduces the emission of the carbon dioxide and is very eco-friendly. This system is named “tri-flex filling framework”. The 2019 Ford Super Chief will generate up to 510 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque thanks to its V10 powertrain. EPA ratings are yet to be announced, but we expect an improved fuel economy.
Moreover, the Ford claims that the fuel efficiency will jump by twelve percent. The driver can now switch the ride from one type of fuel to another via a simple switch inside the cabin. A V10 powertrain adds an all-wheel-drive system as a standard. The 8-speed automatic transmission is in the offer as well. We already wrote about Ford’s plan to electrify all of the upcoming models, so Super Chief can get its first hybrid drivetrain in the coming future.
