Blue Oval automaker will introduce its new pickup truck in the coming months. The 2020 Ford Atlas will most likely appear as a special edition of the famous F-150 pickup truck. Unlike the recently redesigned F-150 pickup, Atlas will wear old school design. Most reliable sources are suggesting a throwback styling.
For that reason, we expect quite astonishing bodywork. Some parts will look modern and the interior will be brand-new. New body panels are available and performance will be truly great. Atlas will introduce powerful performances. However, this pickup will use existing drivetrain options.
Premium Exterior Design
Atlas is based on the concept from 2013. However, the 2020 Ford Atlas will largely depart from that concept. On top of that, this model will arrive as the special edition of the F-150 model. Recently updated F-150 will wear plenty of new horizontal lines and shapes. The same will happen to the Atlas pickup.
However, this model will look unique and kinda old school. The front fascia is similar to the Ford F-150. That includes similar grille, headlights, and bumper. Interior Features

The 2020 Ford Atlas will arrive with the five-star safety rating. Speaking of features, this pickup comes with a 360-degree camera, parking sensors, and blind spot monitoring. The MultiPro tailgate is standard and Blue Oval will surely offer more innovations.
Power adjustable front seats, dual zone climate control, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are all available. The premium audio system is another new feature. Interior is tech-rich and leather upholstery will be standard. We can expect Ford’s Luxury Package as optional. This package adds some other premium amenities, including the panoramic sunroof.
Engine Options, Fuel Economy, Transmission
As we already wrote, the new 2020 Ford Atlas will offer some of the existing powertrain options. The same engine lineup can be found under the hood of the F-150 pickup truck. Atlas will get numerous drivetrain choices, including the V6 and V8 engines. However, a 5.0-liter that produce 400 horses won’t be in the offer. A 3.3-liter V6 will be a standard powertrain.
Powerful V6 provides 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. This unit will deliver 22 mpg combined. None of the engines will offer astonishing fuel economy. Some reports are suggesting a hybrid drivetrain that is very unlikely at the moment. A turbocharged six-cylinder 2.7-liter will be optional. It will produce up to 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.
Ford Atlas Diesel
Pickup truck without a diesel engine is a rare thing to happen nowadays. The 2020 Ford Atlas will offer one optional diesel engine. A most likely candidate is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel unit that offers 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of twist. This engine will offer a 6-speed automatic transmission and the standard front-wheel-drive setup. However, after the scandal with Audi and Volkswagen, this engine is still uncertain. Some reports are saying that this is the most probable outcome.
2020 Ford Atlas Price and Arrival Date
The upcoming 2020 Ford Atlas will start at around $40,000. A special edition model will offer numerous optional packages, so the price could easily reach $60,000. This model will hit the dealerships later in 2019, probably in November.
