Blue Oval carmaker already made several announcements about the upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco. Interestingly, Bronco is not arriving as a replacement for the Explorer or Expedition models. No, it’s coming as an SUV on its own. Moreover, Bronco should represent the hard hit to Ford’s archest rivals. Besides the regular Bronco, this SUV will get different variants as well.
We already wrote about the two-door and four-door versions. Bronco will for sure get a hybrid drivetrain. Of course, the hybrid is just one of the options, besides the gasoline and diesel variants. Now, the off-road variant could also become a reality in the near future.
4-door 2020 Ford Bronco
The rumors are still present about the two-door and four-door Bronco. The four-door Bronco is certain, but it is still unclear if the Blue Oval will make a true throwback with the two-door variant. After the latest Ford’s teaser, it looks like the two-door version could happen. Moreover, it is a very probable outcome that the Bronco arrives with different body styles. Different wheelbase lengths could also suggest Blue Oval’s plans to rival Jeep Wrangler in every possible way.
Ford Bronco Off-Road
As we mentioned the Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco will get an off-road variant that will try to rival Wrangler. It is becoming clear the Wrangler will be the Bronco’s main competitor. The off-road version of the 2020 Ford Bronco will be smaller than the regular model. Some internet forums are already calling it “Baby Bronco”. It will be about the same size as the current Ford Escape and it will hold a boxier design. We covered the possibility of Bronco Raptor version as well, but we are still far from the exact information. Off-road Bronco or “Baby Bronco” will for sure arrive with a different engine than the regular model. To complete the rumors and speculations and make them more interesting, Off-Road Bronco will offer three doors.
2020 Ford Bronco Hybrid
Blue Oval automaker is not saying that much about the new 2020 Ford Bronco. However, Ford did say Bronco will get a hybrid powertrain at some point. Well, indirectly. The company claims all of the high-volume vehicles will offer a hybrid variant. Of course, that includes the Bronco SUV. Okay, Ford didn’t say anything about the hybrid model and its specs such as efficiency, mileage or the price. But it is happening for sure. The 2020 Bronco will ride on a 2.7-liter EcoBoost that delivers 325 horses so the electric motor will improve the overall power a little more. Output with 350 horsepower and more sounds good.
The Future
With everything being said, the upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco is clearly Blue Oval’s next big thing. The buzz is huge and this model will look to beat Jeep Wrangler in every possible category. We will see a two-door and four-door variants. Moreover, both gasoline and diesel drivetrains will be in the offer. On top of that, Bronco Hybrid will arrive at some point, probably few months after the base model. Lastly, an off-road version is the probable outcome as well.
