It is hard to believe Ford will ever give up on a compact crossover such as Escape. The 2020 Ford Escape will represent the fourth-generation of this popular model. Interestingly, Blue Oval carmaker redesigned Escape only two times in almost twenty years. We already wrote about its generations you should avoid. From boxy appearance, Escape became one very modern crossover SUV. Now, the 2020 Escape is coming with a strong engine, hybrid variant, and a class-leading tow rating.
The upcoming model was spotted on the test drive wearing heavy camouflage. Ford Escape will get plenty of significant changes. For the start, the front fascia is all-new. Moreover, Escape will ride on a brand-new Ford’s platform. As you may know, Blue Oval carmaker is planning to drop most of the sedans and hatchbacks. With that in mind, an already best-selling Escape will probably gain even more buyers.
Exterior Changes
The current model comes with almost a brand new design. However, the 2020 Ford Escape will arrive with an all-new platform. The same platform underpins the future Ford Focus. Speaking of Focus model, the Escape’s rear end will borrow some cues from the Focus. First of all, the taillights are sharper and more sculpted and the rear hatch is longer now.
The openings are larger and dual exhaust tips are suggesting a new engine. Other minor changes will include revise of the trapezoidal grille and LED headlights will get a redesign. Expect the upgrade of the side mirrors, and some upper trims could get further upgrades.
2020 Ford Escape Titanium
If you want Ford Escape with more luxury and more exclusive appearance and features, you should opt for the Escape Titanium model. Whatsoever, this variant comes with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that generates 245 horsepower. Moreover, the auto start-stop system is standard and fuel economy is rated at 21/28 mpg. There is room for five persons and leather seats are standard too. Of course, this model comes with the front bucket seats and 10-way power front seats.
The comfort is great and the interior looks and feels premium. Exterior wise, body colored features such as rear spoiler and door handles are available. Moreover, additional chrome trims are present and the black lower grille looks brilliant. Most of the exterior features are standard, however, roof rack crossbars will be optional, again.
2020 Ford Escape Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2020 Ford Escape will cost $25,000. Opting for the SEL model could cost you $30,000. The Titanium models are priced at $35,000. Ford Escape Hybrid should be available for about $34,000. The 2020 Escape will hit the dealerships in the last quarter of 2019.
I hope they have sense enough to make electromagnetic shocks available.
