The all-new 2020 Ford Everest is an attractive SUV based on the Ranger pickup truck. It offers room for seven persons over the three rows of seats. The interior comes with great comfort and plenty of room. From the outside, Everest looks modern and robust. The 2019 Everest started the third-generation of this popular model and the 2020 model will arrive with minor changes only.
However, one huge thing is about to happen. Ford Everest Raptor will finally arrive and it will bring astonishing performances. Even the base Everest is a capable performer and it will offer three powertrain options. On the other hand, the Raptor variant will arrive with five seats only.
Exterior Facelift
The 2020 Ford Everest rides on its third generation. However, the 2019 model started the third generation and it arrived with some major changes and upgrades. For that reason, the 2020 Everest will offer slight exterior upgrades. For the start, Blue Oval carmaker will install more aluminum in order to reduce the vehicle’s weight.
An important upgraded, however, remember that this is one very large SUV. The current model is smaller than before, but Everest still needs better aerodynamics in order to save more fuel. Besides aluminum upgrades, new Everest will offer more chrome and more standard equipment. 18-inch alloy wheels will remain standard.
Engine Specs
As the latest reports are saying, the 2020 Ford Everest should continue to offer three powertrain options. The standard engine is still a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder unit that can generate 240 horses and 270 lb-ft of torque. The optional 3.2-liter five-cylinder engine is producing 200 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque.
Whatsoever, this unit offers better fuel efficiency than the base engine. The third option is a diesel powertrain. The 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine returns 150 hp and 275 lb-ft of twists. Interestingly, all three powertrains are offering 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.
2020 Ford Everest Raptor
The 2020 Ford Everest will finally get its Raptor variant. A much anticipated high-performance variant will get the extremely sporty design and very comfortable interior. Unlike the regular Everest, Everest Raptor won’t offer room for seven passengers, but for five persons only. Besides the astonishing aerodynamics and stylish interior,
Raptor version will deliver great performances. None of the three mentioned engines will power the upcoming 2020 Ford Everest Raptor. For that reason, Blue Oval automaker will install the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, the same engine you can find in the current Ford Ranger pickup. This powertrain delivers 325 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque.
2020 Ford Everest Price and Release Date
The 2020 Ford Everest will retain its current price of $45,000. Higher trim levels will cost over $50,000 and Everest Raptor will be priced at $60,000. Ford’s newest SUV will arrive in the first quarter of 2020.
