We all know for Ford’s plan to electrify most of its vehicles, which includes numerous SUVs, hatchbacks and sedans. Some of the models will see a discount and some of them will continue with the production. The upcoming 2020 Ford Expedition is one fine example of Ford’s plan for the future. This SUV will most likely arrive with a hybrid drivetrain. The same will happen with the Lincoln Navigator.
The 2020 Expedition will receive some upgrades. The exterior will benefit from the heavy use of aluminum materials and the interior will get significant updates. This SUV acts great on the road, performance is great and its towing ability is quite astonishing. There will be four trim levels, among them a famous King Ranch trim that comes with even stronger performance.
Pleasing Exterior Design
The forthcoming 2020 Ford Expedition will borrow plenty of styling cues from the famous F-150 pickup truck. Don’t worry too much, if you want a real SUV with great performances, Expedition got you covered. The exterior will see some visible changes. Designers will add more chrome trims, the LED headlights are standard, just like the taillights.
The styling looks very aggressive and Expedition also sports receiver hitch and tow hooks on the front and rear bumpers. Of course, upper trims such as King Ranch and Platinum are providing more upscale design and even the off-road package is in the offer as an option.
2020 Ford Expedition Interior Changes
The interior of the all-new 2020 Ford Expedition will get significant upgrades. Just like the exterior, the cabin is also based on the F-150 pickup. The dash will see slight refinement, along with the center console. Rotary gearshift knob is all-new and the interior will get more wood and chrome finishes.
Leather upholstery is optional on the base model, and upper trims are offering contrast stitching. Heating and cooling seat options are optional, but the two-zone climate control comes as standard. Large TFT screen comes with new graphics and Sync3 infotainment system will get an update.
Gasoline, Diesel and Hybrid Drivetrains
Just like the Ford F-150 pickup truck, the 2019 model will get a diesel engine. It is a 3.0-liter Powerstroke drivetrain that delivers 250 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Besides that, the 2020 Ford Expedition will get a hybrid drivetrain. The Ford plans is slowly providing the first results and the electrification of all its vehicles is slowly expanding.
It is yet unclear which engine will get an electrification but we can expect a class-leading fuel economy numbers. Some rumors are saying the arriving Expedition could serve as a mobile generator and the towing capability will be above average. Besides that, an existing 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 will remain a standard option.

We can expect a slight price increase. The upcoming 2020 Ford Expedition will cost around $50,000 for the base model. The Platinum models are priced at $70,000 as this model offers premium features only. This SUV will hit the markets later in 2019.
