Ford is doing everything to stay at the top of the truck segment. That is why the Super Duty class is all-new. The 2025 Ford F-250 will arrive without notable changes compared to the 2024 YM, which is the first edition of the fifth generation. The HD class was introduced in 1999 and ever since the Blue Oval company is competing with GM trucks and Ram HD for a better position in the market.
What makes the 2025 Ford F-250 so special? Not only the look is fresh, but there is also a new engine under the hood. No, we are not talking about the Godzilla. Well, some call a 6.8-l V8 a Mini-Zilla. It is a good alternative. Nevertheless, you will get the best performance from a diesel configuration.
The Tremor package is the best upgrade. There won’t be a Raptor edition, unfortunately. You can also go after luxury features by purchasing King Ranch or Limited trims. The F-250 truck might also serve as the base for the heavy-duty Excursion SUV.
2025 Ford F-250 Specs
The focus is on the new engine now. A 6.8-liter V8 is a replacement for a 6.2-l displacement. Truckers can count on 400 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain is designed similarly to the Godzilla. It is a 7.3-liter V8 mill with 430 hp and 480 pound-feet, debuted a few years ago. So, the Super Duty truck now has a couple of new gasoline options with improved efficiency and towing capacities. Godzilla can pull 18,500 pounds, while the Mini-Zilla hauls 17,300 lbs.
To get the best performance, you still need a diesel engine. The heavy-duty segment is not adopting hybrid and electric powertrains any time soon. A 6.7-liter turbodiesel is tuned to deliver 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft, while on the F-350 model with High Output package, you can get 1,200 lb-ft and 37,000 pounds of towing capacity. The 2025 Ford F-250 will do 22,000 lbs.
Best Packages and Options
It really depends on what you need the 2025 Ford F-250 for. It can be a truck for showing off. In that case, King Ranch might be the best solution. There are plenty of features on it, but the price is around $80,000. That is still a $20,000 saving compared to the Limited Edition. Even the base trim starts from $50,000. Super Cab and Regular Cab can save some money, but the CrewCab offers the most comfortable cabin.
If you want to tow a lot, a diesel engine is a must-have. It costs $10k over the base petrol unit, but it adds extra torque for towing. The Tremor is an optional off-road package that will lift the truck by 2 inches, add all-terrain tires, and offer superb approach and departure angles. You can dip into 33-inch deep water with this bundle. Fans would rather like to see the Raptor, but that is not going to happen.
Colors for the 2025 Ford F-250 are Agate Black Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic, Oxford White, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Darkened Bronze Metallic, Race Red and Antimatter Blue Metallic. Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat is a premium $500 paint, while Star White Metallic Tri-Coat and Glacier Gray Metallic Tri-Coat will cost you $1,000.
