The forthcoming 2020 Ford F-350 will suffer some significant changes. This heavy-duty pickup truck was spotted in Michigan wearing full camo. Thanks to the spy shots, we saw what upgrades will happen on the famous F-350 model. For the start, rear-end will look almost the same as on the current Ford F-150.
The facelift continues up front, where some of the features will suffer redesign as well. However, the biggest change will be mechanical. A new 10-speed automatic transmission will be in the offer, along with the new powertrain. The 2020 Ford F-350 will host more safety assist systems as well and generally this pickup will be amazing.
Exterior Facelift
The 2020 Ford F-350 will go through some significant changes both front and back. While the camouflage is hiding almost the whole vehicle, some upgrades are clearly visible. The front end will get newsculpted grille which sports larger Ford’s emblem.
The headlights are redesigned and this pickup will get the same rear as the new Ford F-150. That even includes taillights and an all-new tailgate latch. Besides these changes, the truck will keep its dimensions and proportions.
2020 Ford F-350 Gets a New V8 Powertrain
If the rumors are true, the 2020 Ford F-350 will get rid off the current 6.8-liter Triton V10. This unit is showing the signs of aging and the Blue Oval carmaker feels the time has come for changes. The new engine will be a 7.0-liter V8 that comes with a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
While the current powertrain delivers 385 horses and 430 lb-ft of torque, the new one will surpass those figures with ease. However, we still don’t know the exact engine specs.
Diesel Drivetrain
Next to the new engine, the 2020 Ford F-350 will once again a diesel variant. It is the same 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8. This turbodiesel drivetrain will be slightly revised and will deliver slightly more power and better fuel economy.
This powerful V8 delivers 440 hp and 925 lb-ft of torque. The number of horses will be even higher, and the torque numbers are astonishing. Moreover, only Ram HD can match these numbers.
Tow Ratings
Yes, the all-new Ford F-150 is great, but those who are seeking for workhorses which can haul and tow things will need a new 2020 Ford F-350. This full-size pickup truck will come with an astonishing tow rating. The gasoline models can tow 17,000 pounds with proper equipment which is amazing.
However, the diesel variant is raising the bet with the 21,000 pounds. Those numbers are fascinating and only Ram’s heavy-duty lineup can match that. Moreover, the payload is rated at 7.360 lbs.
2020 Ford F-350 Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2020 Ford F-350 starts at around $35,000. This pickup truck will go on sale next year, along with the rest of the F-Series Super Duty lineup. There will be a couple of trim levels too, and we recommend skipping the base XL model. The XLT cost slightly under $40,000 but it offers more standard equipment. Lariat trims are priced at almost $50,000.
