The 2020 Ford Fusion Energi will reportedly arrive by the end of the year. However, things aren’t looking that great for this mid-size sedan. Ford canceled all plans for the 2020 redesign when it comes to its respective car lineup, and that includes the Fusion model as well. Whatsoever, this model is very uncertain for the future. The 2020 Fusion could be the last one that was in production.
On top of that, the 2020 Fusion Energi gained some improvements last year. The 2019 model now offers better electric range and mileage than its predecessor. Knowing that, the 2020 model will be a carryover and Fusion Energi will retain its price and characteristics.
Interior Features
Not so long ago, Ford said the 2020 Ford Fusion Energi will get new fresh features. That suggest slight refreshments rather than a complete redesign. In order to keep up the pace with the competitors such as Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, Fusion will offer more standard features. However, Energi is sold in a single trim level and the overall customization is poor.
On the other hand, Fusion Energi is a well-equipped sedan for its starting price. For an instance, there is no navigation, except the one on your via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features. Optional packages aren’t available. Ford is willing to offer adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and rear cross-traffic alert as standard now. Besides those changes, this sedan won’t introduce any major refreshments.
2020 Ford Fusion Energi PHEV Drivetrain Specs and Range
The only trim level Blue Oval carmaker is offering is Energi Titanium. It is equipped with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that comes with the CVT transmission and a battery pack. Total output is rated at 188 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque.
The 2020 Ford Fusion Energi is offering 97 MPGe of range and 42 mpg combined. The front-wheel-drive sedan can travel up to 26 miles solely on electric power. With the Level 2 charger, you can charge your Fusion Energi in less than three hours. All-wheel-drive will be an optional feature on this mid-size sedan.
2020 Ford Fusion Energi Cost and Release Date
The forthcoming 2020 Ford Fusion Energi will cost around $35,000. The price shouldn’t be increased as Ford didn’t introduce any type of upgrades. It seems like the mid-size sedan won’t exist past 2020, at least not in the United States. However, the 2020 Fusion Energi will hit the markets later in 2019.
