The forthcoming 2020 Ford Galaxy will get further updates in the coming months. We already wrote about the 2019 Galaxy and its changes and upgrades. Just like the 2019 model, the 2020 Galaxy will also get minor upgrades. Galaxy is an MPV model that is based on the Mondeo model.
The current generation is present since 2015. The shape and dimensions are basically the same for almost five years now. The upcoming model will gain additional visual upgrades. From the inside, Blue Oval will make the Galaxy more modern and more practical. Under the hood, things will largely remain.
Exterior Facelift
Most of the design will stay intact. On top of that, this MPV will continue to ride on the same CD4 platform. Most of the characteristics are borrowed from the Mondeo sedan. The 2020 Ford Galaxy will also wear some cues that are similar to the Ford Focus model. The front fascia will get slight upgrades. Headlights are reshaped and grille looks larger, but not drastically.
Aerodynamics will also get improvements and lines on the doors are looking sharper. The rear end will get slightly more angular approach. However, the back of the vehicle will keep the current features. The shape of this MPV looks perfect and it is surely one of the best-looking models in its segment.
Ford Galaxy Colors
New 2020 Ford Galaxy will offer up to eight exterior paints. Blue Oval is offering Blazer Blue colors as standard. Optional colors As for the metallic paints, Deep Impact Blue, Moondust Silver, Magnetic and Shadow Black are available.
So-called “design” color is Guard Grey. The only exclusive color is Ruby Red. Frozen White is the non-metallic exterior paint that is also optional.
More Standard High-Tech Features
Blue Oval will pay more attention to the interior this time. The all-new 2020 Ford Galaxy looks more upscale than its predecessor. On top of that, Ford already promised more tech features and a more practical cabin. Cargo area is spacious and the Blue Oval will install small storage compartments. Moreover, Ford will most likely deliver a new interior color scheme.
The base model offers an 8-inch touchscreen as standard. Upper trims will most likely gain a new and larger display. The 2020 Galaxy will hit the markets with more standard equipment. That mostly includes new driver-assistance features and safety aids. Leather upholstery is optional, along with the panoramic sunroof.
Engine Lineup is a Carryover
The upcoming 2020 Ford Galaxy will continue to ride on the same engine lineup as the current model. That means there will be two options under the hood. A 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine comes as standard. This engine is producing up to 160 hp. Optionally, the customers can choose a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder unit. Optional and larger drivetrain returns 180 horsepower.
We strongly recommend the optional engine as it delivers more power and it provides better fuel economy. Both units are offering the same 6-speed automatic transmission. A front-wheel-drive setup is standard and all-wheel-drive system is optional. Ride comfort is great and both engines are quiet. On top of that, Ford’s TorqueShift gearbox acts very smooth.
2020 Ford Galaxy Price and Release Date
The price of the arriving 2020 Ford Galaxy will stay intact. Blue Oval manufacturer feels the numbers of small refreshments are enough to keep the current price. For that reason, the new Galaxy MPV is available for $40,000.
There will be three trim levels and the range-topping trim starts at $57,500. The 2020 Galaxy will hit the dealerships in the last quarter of 2019.
