The forthcoming 2020 Ford Mach-E made its debut yesterday. The presentation ahead of the 2019 LA Auto Show was really exciting. From new information to the Idris Elba and Ford’s Instagram mind games. New Mach-E is not only the first all-electric Mustang but also Ford’s first electric SUV. It rides on the EV platform, and it offers great driving range.
Don’t worry. Nothing will happen with the regular Mustang model. Mach-E is a crossover based on the Mustang. Ford says the performances will be very Mustang-like. Yesterday, we had an opportunity to see a very modern and attractive crossover. Moreover, Blue Oval introduced a couple of interesting interior gadgets and much more.
Exterior Design
So far, we had an opportunity to see only the silhouette of the new 2020 Ford Mach-E. Now, we don’t need to talk so much about the design. Everything is official now, and you can see numerous photos and videos on Ford’s official website. We want to make a couple of things clear. Regular Mustang will remain, and nothing will change in that category. Mach-E is company’s newest addition inspired by Mustang car. That’s it, nothing else.
The chassis, interior, headlights, nothing is borrowed from the Mustang, well, except for the logo. Furthermore, a couple of styling cues are similar to the classic Mustang’s cues. Mach-E is pure electric crossover with futuristic appearance and recognizable front fascia. The shape of the vehicle is perfect, and everything seems so impressive.
Interior Features
The interior of the all-new 2020 Ford Mach-E looks incredible. The first thing you’ll see is a large 15.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. The rotary knob is regular, and SYNC3 infotainment system is updated to its latest version. More importantly, touchscreen offers incredible response and is very functional. Bang & Olufsen audio system will be optional on the base trim level. The cabin is very quiet, and the ride feels perfect.
In front of the driver’s seat, a wide display shows crucial vehicle information. Interestingly, new Mach-E doesn’t offer a head-up display. One of the interesting gadgets is wireless charging system and tech tray. The interior is spacious and taller persons can easily fit in the back. Just like Porsche Taycan or Tesla, Mach-E will also drop leather upholstery. Whatsoever, Ford will provide a so-called “vegan interior.”
Horsepower Figures and Driving Range
The approaching 2020 Ford Mach-E will come in numerous performance levels and ranges. According to Blue Oval, the main goal is to deliver 300 miles of driving range. Standard output will provide around 210 miles with AWD setup or 230 miles with RWD system. Higher-performance output such as GT will offer 235-mile range. Regular RWD output is rated at 255 hp and 306 lb-ft of torque.
New Mach-E will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in six seconds. One of the outputs will generate 332 horsepower, and 417 lb-ft of torque and GT Performance Edition will produce 460 horses and 612 lb-ft of twists. Thanks to that, you can choose between a regular variant, or you can pay additional money for a super quick model.
