The iconic Super Duty lineup is coming back with plenty of upgrades. If you want to get the job done, you won’t find better choices on the market. The 2020 Ford Super Duty is spotted near the Blue Oval’s headquarters in Dearborn. The test vehicle is showing the facelift that will happen and the camouflage failed to cover most of the new features.
Some things are still uncertain, such as new powertrain and trim levels. However, the most significant change will be the front grille. The rumors are true and each model will wear different grille. That also includes the difference between trim levels. The interior is another mystery as the spy shots are not providing the cabin photos.
Refreshed Exterior Design
Finally, the Super Duty lineup is getting a redesigned front fascia. The prototype vehicle shows a sculpted grille with the large Ford logo in the center. The rest of the vehicle won’t significantly depart from the current model. The 2020 Ford Super Duty is coming with minor refreshments. The shape will remain, so do dimensions. The taillights are slightly reshaped and the bed is similar to the bed on the F-150 light-duty model.
New Grille
As we said, every Super Duty model will get a different type of grille. The all-new grille will appear in various shapes, depending on the trim level you choose as well. The 2020 Ford Super Duty will get more open and more sculpted grille than the current lineup. A Chassis Cab models will arrive with the thinner horizontal bars and Crew Cab variant offers a sportier grille. A dual horizontal grille is visible and it looks more chiseled. It comes with taller openings too. F-350 Dually model will get a much cleaner grille design. A similar grille can be seen on the current F-150 model with the loaded Sport Package.
2020 Ford Super Duty Interior Details
From the inside, the 2020 Ford Super Duty will get some sort of updates for sure. However, we still don’t have information about the possible upgrades. The spy photos aren’t showing any interior detail. At least, we can expect numerous updates in the technology department. For the rest of the interior, slight changes on the dashboard and the seats should be more than welcome.
New V8 Engine
Our sources are claiming the all-new V8 engine is about to arrive. The new engine should be mated to the Ford/GM 10-speed automatic transmission. That means the 6.8-liter Triton V10 is gone and the 7.0-liter V8 will become available. The brand new powertrain is producing up to 288 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque. Blue Oval carmaker says the new V8 engine will deliver better efficiency and better fuel economy. Moreover, the existing V8 turbodiesel will get a slight torque boost as well.
2020 Ford Super Duty Price and Release Date
The 2020 Ford Super Duty will make a debut later this year before going on sale in the first quarter of 2020. There is no official word on pricing but we can expect a slight price increase over the current Super Duty lineup.
