The 2020 Ford Taurus is a full-size family sedan that currently rides on its sixth generation. According to rumors, the seventh-generation of car will happen in 2020 and it will include a Taurus SHO model. Taurus offers a comfortable and quiet ride, while both interior and exterior are looking luxurious. There is a room for up to five passengers, the trunk is one of the largest in this segment and even an all-wheel-drive setup is on the cards. Moreover, Ford is likely to introduce a hybrid model in 2020.
Powered by a strong V6 engine, the 2020 Taurus is available in four trim levels. A legendary Taurus SHO is coming as well, and this Super High Output sedan will also suffer redesign like the base model.
2020 Ford Taurus Will Suffer a Redesign
First of all, Taurus is a big car. This sedan can easily match some full-size SUVs when it comes to length. On the other hand, it looks smaller than it actually is, and the credit goes to the sharp and modern lines and creases. Since the introduction of the last generation, Ford Taurus is taking an athletic stance with a long hood and short deck. The 2020 Ford Taurus is a 4-door model that combines lower roof and wider stance with the sloping windshield. However, the upcoming model should represent the new-generation and changes are likely. The redesign will include new bumper and headlights while the front fascia and the front grille are refreshed. The same thing will happen at the rear that will gain new taillights and bumper as well. The dimensions will stay intact and some speculations are saying that the 19-inch wheels will get an upgrade also.
Comfortable Interior
The 2020 Ford Taurus will offer the same attractive and appealing interior as before. While some features are outdated and the legroom could’ve been better this sedan is an entry-level of luxury. The seats are comfortable and are offering cooling and heating options. The steering wheel is multifunctional and it adds voice commands for the audio and navigation systems. Generally, the interior will not suffer major changes but we can expect some updated such as new infotainment system or more standard features.
2020 Ford Taurus to Arrive With the Same V6 drivetrain
The forthcoming 2020 Ford Taurus will keep the existing 3.5-liter V6 engine. This powerful drivetrain is capable of producing up to 288 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque and it mates to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, however, you can pay for an optional all-wheel-drive configuration. Steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters are included on all trim levels. The Ford plans to electrify almost the entire sedans and hatchbacks lineup so we expect the new generation of Taurus to get a hybrid or EV model.
2020 Ford Taurus SHO is Providing More Horsepower
A Super High Output or SHO is a top-line trim level that brings more luxury and much better performance. This model will add an additional 100 horses and 96 lb-ft of twists. Moreover, thanks to the turbochargers and direct-fuel-injection system the 2020 SHO will offer a better fuel economy as well. An all-wheel-drive setup is standard and even the SHO version will suffer significant exterior changes. The 2020 Ford Taurus SHO will get a special performance-oriented version in the coming years as well.
Price and USA arrival date
The 2020 Ford Taurus will become available by the end of 2019. It will cost around $28,000 for the base model, while the pricing of higher trim levels is coming soon. The 2020 Ford Taurus SHO model is priced at $48,000.
