After six years in the United States, Ford will discount its C-Max model. However, this model, along with its hybrid variant, will continue its journey in Europe. The upcoming 2021 Ford C-Max won’t get significant upgrades. Whatsoever, Blue Oval opted for the same design as before. However, interior will gain a couple of updates, mostly in terms of technology.
Some fans were hoping for the stronger engine, but that will not happen. Moreover, 2021 C-Max comes with a single gasoline powertrain option. Even though it comes almost unchanged, 2021 C-Max will surely continue with its popularity in Europe.
2021 C-Max Exterior Design
For a start, the 2021 Ford C-Max is a well-designed model, and it looks attractive. Sure, design is the same for years now, and nothing will change in the future. That means the 2021 model will be a carryover in terms of styling and design. Looking from the front, C-Max looks like a regular hatchback, similar to the Ford Focus.
Trapezoidal grille is very recognizable, and it looks perfect in combination with the larger headlights. The rear part looks rounded, and the taillights are very modern-looking. Even the shape of the bumper is similar to the Focus’ model. In terms of size and shape, C-Max will stay intact. A sloped roof makes this model looks boxier than it actually is.
Interior Updates
The arriving MPV will introduce a couple of tech updates for 2021. That includes a regular update of the infotainment system, for a start. The 2021 Ford C-Max will also offer more standard features than ever before. Furthermore, Blue Oval manufacturer will add new safety aids and driver-assistance features.
Overall, this should additionally modernize the interior. The second row of seats isn’t tight at all, and it provides solid legroom. Upper trim levels are available with more luxury, and that includes automatic climate control and leather seats.
Solid Powertrain Option
If you are looking for something solid and not that much powerful, 2021 Ford C-Max could be the answer. The arriving model will deploy a 1.6-liter EcoBoost that generates 150 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. Some fans would surely love to see an optional and more potent engine.
However, that will not happen in the near future. On the other hand, the C-Max Hybrid is available, and it provides slightly more power. On top of that, it comes with drastically better fuel efficiency.
No More C-Max in the United States
Blue Oval will discontinue its C-Max model after six years in the United States. That also includes the production of the 2021 Ford C-Max Hybrid and C-Max Energi variants. This comes as no surprise. After all, C-Max is Blue Oval’s worst-selling model in the U.S.
However, C-Max will continue its journey in Europe. A similar thing will happen with Ford Focus that will be moved to China. Discounting C-Max will make room for Ford’s Ranger truck and Bronco SUV.
2021 Ford C-Max Price and Release Date
The approaching 2021 Ford C-Max isn’t the best choice on the markets right now. We’re not going to lie. Some competitors are way ahead this model. You can find models with more equipment, more power or more room for the same money. New C-Max will cost around $25,000 for its base trim level. It will go on sale in the second half of 2020.
