The approaching 2021 Ford EcoSport is getting additional refreshments. Ford is withdrawing most of its hatchbacks and sedans, but luckily, EcoSport as a compact crossover is continuing its path. Whatsoever, this model will be sold in Europe and Brazil as well. The 2021 model will be modernized, especially in terms of exterior design.
The customers can choose between gasoline and diesel engines, which becomes a rarity. However, its compact size provides little room inside the cabin and that is one of the biggest issues the customers have. Still, let’s see the buyers’ feedback after the 2021 model and its significant updates.
2021 EcoSport Exterior Redesign
The all-new 2021 Ford EcoSport showed its new body on the recent spy shots. Under the heavy camouflage, most of the innovations were more than visible. Interestingly, the new model features a sloped roof that makes this crossover looks even smaller. However, EcoSport will look sporty and stylish once it arrives.
The shape is the same as it was, but this time, EcoSport will wear a couple of Ford Fiesta’s styling cues. That includes the front fascia that sports wider grille and new headlights. The side profile looks more subtle while we couldn’t see the changes on the rear part. Still, EcoSport definitely looks refreshed, while the crossover will keep its small dimensions.
Interior Updates
As for the interior, changes are not visible on the spy photos. However, the 2021 Ford EcoSport will surely introduce numerous upgrades. Ford plans to modernize the cabin and to provide more standard features. Furthermore, slight design changes will surely happen. SYNC3 infotainment system is getting an update, and EcoSport will get new driver-assistance aids.
That includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and lane-keep assist. On top of that, this crossover will get new optional upholstery that will provide a higher level of comfort. Lastly, we can’t wait to see the final product and the latest design changes inside the cabin.
Engine Options in the U.S. and Europe
The engine lineup depends on the market. That means you shouldn’t expect the same engines in the United States and Europe. The 2021 Ford EcoSport will ride on a 1.0-liter EcoBoost that delivers 85 horses. The same engine will provide 140 horsepower in some other variants of this crossover.
As for Europe, EcoSport offers 2.0-liter gasoline and 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engines. The gasoline variant provides 100 hp and diesel 120 horsepower. On top of that, Ford said that the crossover won’t get any type of electric powertrain or even hybrid version.
