The upcoming 2021 Ford Escape will arrive with major changes. The new model will bring plenty of updates that should make this crossover look even more attractive. Escape is one of the most popular compact crossover-SUVs that are currently available on the market. It comes with great exterior design and a very modern and luxurious cabin.
Moreover, it is one of Ford’s best-selling models. The competition is stronger than ever so Blue Oval manufacturer has great things in mind for its Escape model. There will be three powertrain options, including a hybrid variant. The new model will gain numerous interior updates, mostly in terms of technology. Ford will release a new Escape by the end of the year.
2021 Escape Colors
According to the latest reports, a new 2021 Ford Escape should offer the same color palette as its predecessor. There is still a possibility for Blue Oval to offer one or two brand-new exterior paints. At this moment, Escape offers ten colors, including one glossy version, seven metallic colors, and two tintcoats.
Star White Metallic Tricoat and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat are the two most premium options. Besides that, Escape offers Sedona Orange, Dark Persian Green, and Desert Gold. Magnetic, Velocity Blue, Ingot Silver, Oxford White, and Agate Black are also in the offer. Only two colors are not included in the price of this SUV.
Exterior Design
A new design will look closer to the Porsche 911 model. Of course, the 2021 Ford Escape won’t use this famous model as an inspiration. Two models are just looking similar now and that is it. Escape will get mid-cycle refreshments and that includes slightly enlarged exterior features. Overall, the design looks sharper now and more distinctive.
Escape will stick to its current platform so the dimensions won’t be changed at all. The front fascia will host more chrome accents and more angular LED headlights. To the sides, 18-inch wheels are offered as standard. The rear part should stay intact for 2021.
Engine Options
In terms of powertrain options, there will be three engine choices. The first choice is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost with 180 hp. This engine has been rated at 27 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The optional AWD system will slightly decrease these figures. A 2.0-liter turbo-four is optional and it produces 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Both units will use 8-speed automatic transmission. Escape will remain a front-wheel-drive model.
Ford Escape Hybrid
The third engine option is a recently introduced hybrid version. The 2021 Ford Escape PHEV will deploy a 2.5-liter Atkinson unit in a combination with a 48-volt electric system. Of course, the belt-driver alternator has been included as well. According to Blue Oval, this version will deliver over 100 mpg and electric motor will add more horses. The total output should be rated at around 209 horsepower. As for the fully electric driving range, Escape PHEV will offer around 50 miles per charge.
2021 Ford Escape Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2021 Ford Escape will now start at about $26,000. On the other hand, a range-topping Titanium trim level will cost $36,500. As for the Escape PHEV, this version will cost $32,000. Ford will release its new compact SUV by the end of the year. Most likely, the 2021 Escape will arrive in the last quarter of 2020.
