New 2021 Ford Expedition MAX is a perfect full-size SUV that offers a room for eight passengers. It is a spacious SUV that will be refreshed for 2021. Thanks to that, Expedition MAX will arrive with more premium materials inside the cabin, while the interior will remain practical and roomy. The MAX variant is the same as the regular Expedition, except it is a longer version with increased seating capacity.
That also means the cargo capacity is larger, and we must say it is significantly larger. Both models are using the same V6 EcoBoost engine and are providing more than enough power. The sales will begin in the first quarter of 2021.

As for the exterior design, the new 2021 Ford Expedition MAX will get a couple of minor upgrades. The new model will look bolder, especially up front. MAX model comes with a longer wheelbase, and it provides great ride quality. If you want more luxury, Lincoln Navigator is its luxurious sibling, and the two models are very similar in various categories.
As for the Expedition MAX, it makes a real standout in the crowded road. It is a full-size SUV, but its dimensions won’t change in 2021. Its design changes through the trim levels. For instance, the Platinum trim is more premium, and it adds more stylish wheels and additional chrome trims.
Interior Enhancements
On the inside, the forthcoming 2021 Ford Expedition MAX will introduce more standard features. The seating layout will remain, which means there will be room for eight occupants. As we said, Expedition MAX is a very spacious and practical SUV. It is a longer variant, so it provides 104.6 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded flat. The Blue Oval automaker will provide more premium materials as well. Thanks to that, the cabin will look more modern, and the comfort will be better than before.
Still, some plastic materials are still available and are looking cheap, in our opinion. Larger air vents will remain, along with the standard 8-inch touchscreen. SYNC 3 infotainment is up to date, and it supports 4G LTE mobile hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. We’d recommend you to skip the base trim level and opt for trims such as King Ranch or Limited.
Engine Specifications, Towing Capacity
Nothing will change under the hood as the 2021 Ford Expedition MAX will continue to offer its 3.5-liter V6. It is a twin-turbo EcoBoost powertrain that is capable of producing 375 horsepower. On top of that, this output generates 470 lb-ft of torque. Interestingly, the range-topping Platinum trim level provides 400 hp. Ford’s relatively new ten-speed automatic transmission is available as standard.
The Expedition MAX SUV can tow up to 9350 pounds, but a diesel engine won’t be offered. On the other hand, some rumors are strongly suggesting a hybrid powertrain. This could be a game-changer as Expedition MAX cries for improved fuel efficiency. Still, this is just a rumor at the moment.
2021 Ford Expedition MAX Release Date and Price
The Blue Oval manufacturer will release its new full-size SUV in the first quarter of 2021. The 2021 Ford Expedition MAX will start at $55,000, while upper trim levels will cost above $65,000. We are still waiting for Ford to confirm the speculated hybrid version.
