Tesla finally showcased its long-anticipated Cybertruck. Now, Blue Oval manufacturer is on the move with a new 2021 Ford F-150 Electric pickup truck. Last month, Ford introduced its first all-electric crossover, a Mustang-inspired Mach-E model.
However, it seems like the Cybertruck stole the show, and it became an instant hit for various reasons, from its unusual design to the impressive performance figures. Let’s say that Ford Mach-E isn’t far from Tesla’s Model X in terms of performances. The same could happen with the F-150 Electric variant.
2021 F-150 Electric or Cybertruck? Which Model Will Look Better?
Don’t forget the Rivian, Tesla’s main competitor. More importantly, Ford invested a lot of money in this startup program. On top of that, the Blue Oval will most likely share a lot of components with Rivian. The 2021 Ford F-150 Electric will surely benefit from it. And that is where we see Ford’s chance to beat Tesla. Moreover, new F-150 will have an easy task to beat Cybertruck in terms of design. Cybertruck really looks strange and unique. The customers will surely opt for a more conventional approach.
For that reason, F-150 Electric will probably keep its current form. Of course, some modifications on the front fascia, such as removing the grille, will surely happen. But overall, F-150 Electric shouldn’t depart from the current F-150 shape and dimensions. As for the Tesla Cybertruck, you can love it or hate it. One thing is sure. You can’t ignore it. It comes with four doors and a 6.5 feet long bed.
What About Interior Design?
This could be an interesting battle between the 2021 Ford F-150 Electric and Tesla Cybertruck. Tesla is offering a room for six passengers across the two rows of seats. Moreover, the dashboard is button-free and it hosts an impressive 17-inch infotainment touchscreen. Of course, semi-autonomous autopilot is available, as well. As for the F-150 Electric, again, we don’t expect any major departure from the current gasoline model. Logically, the interior will look more modern and upscale.
We don’t know in which cab variants will F-150 Electric become available. Currently, there are three cab options in the offer. The interior of F-150 largely depends on the chosen trim level. It determines the level of luxury, and it adds more unique features. Ford will hardly compete with Tesla in terms of uniqueness. Still, more traditional approach could do wonders for the Blue Oval manufacturer.
Who Preforms Better?
We can’t see how the 2021 Ford F-150 Electric will compete against Tesla Cybertruck in terms of performances. After all, the all-new Cybertruck sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. That is unreal, especially for the pickup truck segment. For that reason, Ford will look to deliver the best-possible driving range.
Rivian promised some mind-whooping figures, but we didn’t see anything of it yet. If Rivian releases its new pickup truck with the promised figures, we’ll have a winner. Moreover, Ford could largely benefit from it as many experts believe the Blue Oval will borrow a lot of things from Rivian.
2021 Ford F-150 Electric or Tesla Cybertruck? Range and Towing Capacity
According to Tesla, its new Cybertruck will provide 250 miles of electric range. Sadly for Ford, this is a single-motor version figure. The range-topping dual-motor AWD variant will offer up to 500 miles. The 2021 Ford F-150 Electric will hardly beat those figures, let’s be real. On top of that, we saw that Cybertruck did to the 2019 F-150 gasoline version in the battle of pulling.
Cybertruck is 231.7 inches long and 75 inches tall. That battle isn’t fair for various reasons. After all, F-150 measures 210 inches of length and is 75 inches tall. However, the trick is in powertrain. It will be interesting to see F-150 Electric’s figures, but Ford will surely provide lower figures than Tesla.
Basically, if you want a really modern, unique, and odd-looking pickup truck, Cybertruck is definitely for you. On top of that, it offers amazing performances. If you are fan of traditional design, no one will stop you from buying 2021 F-150 Electric.
