The all-new 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid will arrive by the end of the year. It is a massive thing for the iconic F-150 pickup truck that will also gain its first all-electric variant. The latest reports are suggesting the same hybrid setup that you can find in the new Ford Explored Hybrid SUV. We already know the performance figures, including the estimated electric driving range.
Next F-150 Hybrid will include a plug-in hybrid option as well. As for the exterior changes, the hybrid version won’t depart from the regular gasoline-powered model. The same is with interior design. The Blue Oval manufacturer will release its new model later in 2020, and the hybrid version will cost around $5,000 over the base F-150 trim level.
2021 F-150 Hybrid Facelift
The forthcoming 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid won’t depart from the regular model in terms of design. That means the same updates from the base model will be available on the hybrid version. The only difference is the charging port of the driver’s side of the vehicle. The front fascia remains as stylish as before, and F-150 will gain more aggressiveness for 2021.
The grille is the same, but the headlights are slightly reshaped. 17-inch wheels are offered as standard. Ford will also work on adding more lightweight materials. Thanks to that, fuel efficiency will be even better than before.
Interior to Introduce Further Updates
The interior updates are not available yet. However, we don’t expect any surprises. The 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid will feature a modern cabin with a high level of comfort. It is a must for the F-150 pickup after Chevrolet opted for radical changes inside its pickup truck lineup. For that reason, the Blue Oval manufacturer will deliver more tech and more upright materials.
On top of that, more driver-assistance aids will be available. On the other hand, the interior layout won’t change, and even the interior room largely remains. The new infotainment system is easier to use and is more responsive. Safety is superb, but Ford will try to improve this category.
Hybrid Specs, MPG, Transmission
The approaching 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid will use the same system as the Ford Explorer Hybrid SUV. Exact specs are not available yet. However, Explorer is using a 3.3-liter naturally-aspirate V6 engine that makes 318 horsepower and 322 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, a 35-kilowatt electric motor is in the offer, along with a 1.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
From what we know, F-150 Hybrid will use its 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost. This engine will serve as a base, and it will produce power than the Explorer Hybrid model. Reliable sources are suggesting a 10-mile all-electric driving range as well. However, we are still waiting for the Blue Oval manufacturer to release exact specs.
2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid Release Date and Price
As for the price, the new 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid will cost closer to the $40,000. Moreover, this pickup truck will go on sale in the later stages of 2020. Most likely, Ford will release a new model after the Coronavirus outbreak in the last quarter of the year.
