The forthcoming 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor has been spied once again. Previous spy photos were showing small exterior updates, but that is not the case with the new batch. The changes are more significant and more visible. New F-150 Raptor will feature a completely open grille. Moreover, Blue Oval is offering new exterior features, and the front fascia is completely redesigned.
The interior will surely gain a couple of upgrades as well. The engine is perhaps the biggest mystery at the moment, but the hybrid powertrain is a very likely outcome. The next-gen F-150 will go on sale at some point later this year. Moreover, the price should slightly increase over the price of the current model.
2021 F-150 Raptor Spy Shots
The all-new pickup truck and its latest spy photos are showing numerous exterior upgrades. The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will gain a blockier appearance with mesh design and a single crossbar dividing the grille. The edges of the front fascia are not visible, or at least we couldn’t see its full shape. However, it seems like the front part features a square look. The grille perfectly bleeds into the headlamps, which look very stylish and innovative.
Moreover, we don’t know if the grille will be wider than before, but the headlights are pushed closer to the edges. The fans can’t complain if Ford delivers a small evolution of the current design. Several variants of the current model are offering a mesh grille design. However, the spied model is most likely the XLT trim level. The second grille is also visible, and it sports chunky rectangles instead of mesh coverings. No doubt, the new 2021 F-150 Raptor will surely look more stylish and upright.
Interior is Still a Mystery
So far, we don’t know anything about the possible interior redesign. New 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will surely provide a sportier cabin with more class and upright design. However, no one knows if the changes are minor or significant. Blue Oval will provide the same leather upholstery with beautiful suede inserts. Moreover, the center console will be slightly modified, according to reliable sources.
Moonroof, new paddle shifters, and additional use of carbon fiber materials are very certain. Still, we’ll have to wait and see how the new cabin design will look like. One thing is certain, Ford will offer more high-tech features with new driver-assistance systems.
Engine Speculations
We are entering the engine rumors land. The next 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will most likely deploy a V8 powertrain. The current Raptors in the Blue Oval’s lineup are using traditional six-cylinder and turbocharged units. Now, F-150 Raptor could borrow a 5.2-liter V8 from the Mustang Shelby GT500 model. Another option is a relatively fresh 7.0-liter DOHC V8.
Now, the latest speculations are predicting a hybrid powertrain. New V8 should work in combination with the electric motor and the battery pack. Thanks to that, a new pickup truck could provide over 400 horses and 400 lb-ft of torque. Still, spy shots and speculations are the only sources of information at the moment.
2021 Ford F-150 Raptor Price and Release Date
If the reports are correct, the new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor should cost between $54,000 and $60,000. The next-gen F-150 will arrive at some point this year, most likely in the second half. As for the Raptor variant, it should hit the dealerships shortly after the regular model.
