Under the hood, a new 2021 Ford F-550 comes with two engine options. The first one is a 7.3-liter V8 that can produce 430 horsepower. Moreover, the standard engine option delivers 475 lb-ft of torque. The same engine is standard in the F-450 variant. A 6.2-liter that is currently in the offer won’t be available in the future.
The best part of the F-550 truck is its potent 6.7-liter PowerStroke output. Optional turbodiesel V8 generates 330 hp and up to 825 lb-ft of torque. However, Ford said that the diesel engine will gain an even higher level of torque for 2021. Ford offers a superb TorqShift 10-speed automatic transmission. Lastly, F-550 Diesel can tow up to 40,000 pounds.
2021 Ford F-550 Release Date and Price
As for the price, a new 2021 Ford F-550 will cost around $45,000. On the other hand, the luxurious Limited trim level is available for $60,000. The Blue Oval automaker should release its complete Super Duty lineup before the end of the current year. However, the COVID-19 outbreak could force Ford to reschedule its plans.
