Ford F-550 Gets Mid-Cycle Facelift
The all-new 2021 Ford F-550 looks attractive for its segment. Whatsoever, the only real competitor in terms of design is the Ram 5500 truck. As for the F-550, the new version will arrive with the same shape and dimensions as its predecessor. Many reliable reports are writing about new wheels that should be optional. Ford’s recognizable design remains as well.
However, this truck will gain slightly reshaped headlights and bolder bumpers. The rear part remains intact, and F-550 is once again available in three different cab configurations. As we said, the interior of the 2021 Ford F-550 will suffer the biggest changes. The new model will arrive with a couple of visual tweaks, and it will look more stylish than before. Under the hood, a new 2021 Ford F-550 comes with two engine options. The first one is a 7.3-liter V8 that can produce 430 horsepower. Moreover, the standard engine option delivers 475 lb-ft of torque. The same engine is standard in the F-450 variant. A 6.2-liter that is currently in the offer won’t be available in the future.
The best part of the F-550 truck is its potent 6.7-liter PowerStroke output. Optional turbodiesel V8 generates 330 hp and up to 825 lb-ft of torque. However, Ford said that the diesel engine will gain an even higher level of torque for 2021. Ford offers a superb TorqShift 10-speed automatic transmission. Lastly, F-550 Diesel can tow up to 40,000 pounds.
2021 Ford F-550 Release Date and Price
As for the price, a new 2021 Ford F-550 will cost around $45,000. On the other hand, the luxurious Limited trim level is available for $60,000. The Blue Oval automaker should release its complete Super Duty lineup before the end of the current year. However, the COVID-19 outbreak could force Ford to reschedule its plans.
