The forthcoming 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is in the works. As you probably know, 2020 is the final year for the Mustang Bullitt version. This model will be replaced with a new special edition. The last spy shots are proof. According to these photos, Blue Oval is working on a new Mach 1 model. You can spot numerous changes on the new model, mostly on the front fascia.
Interestingly, Ford will use different cues from various company’s special editions and trim levels. Under the hood, new 2021 Mustang Mach 1 will most likely deploy a powerful V8 engine. However, some reports are convinced that the Blue Oval will provide different outputs. Ford will release more details closer to the launch date, which should happen later this year.
2021 Mustang Mach 1 Spy Shots
As we said, a new batch of spy photos is showing numerous changes, mostly upfront. The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 will get numerous modifications, including the reshaped grille and headlights. The bumper has been reshaped as well, but the general layout was perfectly disguised. The new exhaust is suggesting new powertrain, but this is just a possibility at the moment. Ford will be using various components from the company’s different special editions and trim levels.
For instance, multi-spoke wheels are the same as on the Mustang Pony Package. On the other hand, window trims are exactly the same as on the current Mustang Bullitt. Appearance remains sporty and aggressive and the rear part seems to be more aerodynamic. New tires are also visible and we are looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport units.
Interior Details
We still don’t know how the interior will look like. New 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 could also borrow a couple of cues and features from the Bullitt version. On the other hand, possibilities are infinite and we are just taking a wild guess here. However, the interior will be a classic Mustang. We can’t say that Ford can surprise us in this category.
For a start, a dashboard could only suffer small upgrades. However, some rumors are suggesting an all-electric version so the center console could gain a completely new look. The flat-bottom steering wheel and rear-bench seat are a must for this muscle car. Lastly, a mix of leather and Alcantara upholstery will remain standard.
Engine Rumors
There are a couple of possible outcomes for the upcoming 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1. Of course, we are talking about engine options. First reports are suggesting a 5.0-liter V8 engine. It is the most likely outcome, to be honest. The same engine powers Mustang Bullitt version and it provides 480 horsepower. You can expect similar figures, if not the same in the new Mach 1 variant.
The second possibility is a different turbocharged gasoline engine, possibly a smaller displacement. The third part of the story could be an all-electric powertrain. According to speculations, Mach 1 will go all-electric and it will provide an amazing driving range. Moreover, Mach 1 EV will produce around 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque.
2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Price and Release Date
New 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 will go on sale in the last quarter of 2020. Unfortunately, Blue Oval won’t produce the Mustang Bullitt version anymore. However, Mach 1 is here to take that place and Ford will release more details in the coming months. That includes the starting price that is unavailable at the moment.
