The upcoming 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid is a compact SUV that slots above the smaller Ford EcoSport and below the larger Ford Edge and three-row Explorer variants. It competes in one of the most competitive segments, with rivals from nearly every major manufacturer. Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V are among them.
The Escape was completely rebuilt just a few years ago, and we don’t anticipate any substantial modifications for 2022. While we appreciate the optional hybrid powerplant, some things need significant improvements, including the transmission. Anyway, Escape delivers great efficiency, a comfortable interior, and plenty of modern features. The sales will begin in the coming weeks.
2022 Escape Hybrid Facelift
The new 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid will introduce a couple of visual refreshments. For starters, the Escape is a distinguishable crossover, thanks to its bigger grille that dominates the front fascia. The headlights are looking unique, and everything appears to be quite modern. Some design characteristics are borrowed from Ford models such as the Mondeo and Focus. Anyway, it is a familiar Ford design language. A few intriguing changes will happen on the 2022 model.
The grille is lower and the headlamps are smaller than before. Furthermore, the headlights have been extended towards the upper corners, which looks good. The rear of the Escape will retain the same athletic appearance, although there will be slight modifications. As before, the hybrid variant won’t depart from the gasoline-powered Escape in terms of design.
Interior Refreshments
The cabin of the new 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid is already of high quality. The interior is both roomy and pleasant. Furthermore, Ford provides a plethora of high-tech features. Escape will have additional standard equipment by 2022. Furthermore, Blue Oval will add more high-quality elements, making the new interior even more appealing. Some inexpensive materials are no longer available, and the bottom center console has been somewhat modified.
The dashboard will remain, as will the usual cloth upholstery. Upper trim levels, on the other hand, will have new leather seats, while the Titanium trim will have real leather upholstery. Trim levels, as well as optional packages, remain the same. Lastly, Ford will reportedly offer a larger 8-inch infotainment display as standard.
Driving Range, MPG
The standard Escape crossover comes with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that produces 180 horsepower. A 2.0-liter turbo-four engine with 250 horsepower is also available as an option. The performance is adequate, but the new 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid is the genuine thing. Not only does the hybrid model save fuel, but it also produces greater power.
A 2.5-liter engine with two electric motors develops up to 220 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid system has a 14.4-kWh battery pack. As a result, the Escape Hybrid has an all-electric range of 37 miles. This crossover also gets 44 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.
2022 Ford Escape Release Date, Price
The forthcoming 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid has a starting price of $36,000. In comparison, the standard model will cost approximately $30,000. In our perspective, the pricing is reasonable and comparable to rivals such as the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. The Escape Hybrid will be available in showrooms in the fall of 2021.
