The all-new 2022 Ford F-250 Lariat will be one of the most interesting trim levels in the heavy-duty segment. Ford will introduce a redesign on its F-150 pickup, but heavy-duty trucks will arrive with mid-cycle refreshments. It seems like the Blue Oval manufacturer focused on the Lariat trim, more than ever before.
This model will gain a new and larger horizontally-oriented 12-inch touchscreen and much more. New exterior color is on offer, along with the new optional appearance packages. Thanks to that, both the exterior and interior are nicely refreshed. The price will slightly increase and the sales should begin this summer. On the other hand, nothing will change under the hood.
2022 F-250 Lariat Facelift, Colors
As we already said, the 2022 Ford F-250 Lariat won’t introduce a redesign. However, the changes are very interesting. For a start, new Atlas Blue exterior color is available. Moreover, the black appearance package is on offer and it comes with impressive 20-inch wheels. Moreover, this package adds body-colored features such as grille, bumpers, badges, and running boards.
From now on, even the lower-grade trims will offer the Lariat sport appearance package. Thanks to that, entry-level models will match Lariat’s impressive chrome exhaust tips, upright grille, black running boards, and mirrors.
New Screen Supports SYNC4 System
On the inside, the 2022 Ford F-250 Lariat comes with a new Baja interior color scheme. It is a new interior color, but we are still waiting to see if some new schemes will reach production. For an instance, the Limited trim level will gain Navy Pier and Light Slate colors, and Lariat could follow the same path. Still, the highlight of the next F-250 Lariat is the 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen.
All of the trim levels from Lariat and above will get this new unit. Ford says the touchscreen will use the new Sync 4 infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features. On the other hand, Ford F-150 gained a 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster, but it won’t be available in Super Duty trucks.
Transmission, Towing Capacity
The upcoming 2022 Ford F-250 Lariat won’t depart from the rest of the trim levels. Of course, we are talking about available engines. A 6.2-liter V8 engine is standard once again and it produces 385 horses and 430 lb-ft of torque. The first optional engine is 7.3-liter V8 gasoline, which is the most powerful gasoline unit in the heavy-duty segment. This variant develops 475 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of twisting power.
Finally, a 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel is available. This turbodiesel engine generates 475 hp and up to 1050 lb-ft of torque. If you equip the new F-250 Lariat with a diesel engine, gooseneck, and fifth wheel, this truck will offer 37,000 pounds of towing capacity. You can choose between standard rear-wheel-drive and optional four-wheel-drive systems. On top of that, Ford offers both 6-speed automatic and 10-speed automatic transmission.
2022 Ford F-250 Lariat Price, Release Date
The price of the new 0222 Ford F-250 Lariat starts at $47,500. To compare, the base trim level is available for $34,000. Ford will launch its new Super Duty trucks this summer and this lineup will be manufactured in Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville and Ohio.
