2022 Ford F-650 is Less Than a Year Away

The upcoming 2022 Ford F-650 has entered production. That also includes the F-750 version as well. According to the latest reports, the production started at the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant in Ohio. Originally, the start of the production was scheduled for January 2021, but things have changed. Interestingly, E-Series and medium-duty truck lineup skipped the 2020 model year.

That means Ford transitioned from 2019 to 2021 with no gap in production. Some changes on the 2022 F-650 will surely happen. And while we don’t know everything about this model, we know some things that will surely happen.

2022 Ford F-650 Specs

In terms of performance, we don’t expect major upgrades. The 2022 Ford F-650 will deploy a 7.3-liter Godzilla V8 engine. This unit will produce 350 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. The gasoline V8 will join the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbodiesel engine. This powertrain option is capable of generating 270 horsepower and up to 700 lb-ft of twisting power. Both engines are using the same TorqShift HD six-speed automatic transmission.

However, the 2022 F-650 will introduce some mechanical upgrades. For a start, an integrated air compressor will work with a gasoline V8 engine from now on. The compressor powers the air brakes, air suspension, air ride seats, and air horns. However, air brakes are available on diesel-powered variant only.

Exterior Changes

 The forthcoming 2022 Ford F-650 will introduce minor changes and upgrades. The complete medium-duty truck lineup will gain the same updates. Visually, the new F-650 will continue to offer a modern look with a nice-looking front fascia. Moreover, the side profile will remain but the rear part will probably get small modifications.

Some parts are looking sharp and upright, including the front grille. The headlights are recently refreshed and most of the styling cues are borrowed from the F-150 pickup. New exterior paints are always a possibility. We also expect more standard features and some new optional amenities.

Interior

A lot of people think the interior is not important when it comes to medium-duty trucks. We can’t agree with that and the 2022 Ford F-650 is one fine example. Its interior is full of high-tech features, although some of them are optional. The comfort is good and there is plenty of room inside of it. The base trim level comes with standard AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, and numerous USB ports. The cabin is similar to the interior of the Ford Super Duty lineup.

Of course, F-650 does not offer real luxury, but it is more than enough in our opinion. The steering wheel and steering column are almost brand-new so nothing will change in this category. Safety will be improved but F-650 already offers impressive safety ratings. Overall, small updates will do more than enough for the 2022 model.

Ford F-650 Release Date and Price

Most likely, the new 2022 Ford F-650 will once again start at around $60,000. We don’t expect a major change in terms of price. The sales will begin later in 2021. As we said, the production already started, weeks before is planned.
