2022 Ford Fusion Active Wagon Will Run On Hybrid Power

The forthcoming 2022 Ford Fusion Active Wagon is almost ready to arrive. This model was spied a couple of times now. The sales should begin in the second half of the year and we are still waiting to hear more details. However, most of the changes and upgrades are already familiar. For a start, Fusion Active Wagon looks more like a crossover than the actual wagon.

As before, this model is based on the Europe-spec Ford Focus wagon. The biggest rival is Subaru Outback and its lifted wagon variant. After the Fusion sedan ending production, Active Wagon will be the only Fusion left. Here’s everything you need to know.

Spied 2022 Ford Fusion Active Wagon showed its new design. This crossover-like model wears the same styling as the European Ford Focus model. This comes as no surprise, but the Active Wagon model is bigger and it offers larger tires as well.

Interestingly, the dimensions are closer to the Ford Edge model, which is a mid-size crossover. On the other hand, Fusion Active Wagon will arrive with a lifted suspension. Spy photos are showing exactly that. The appearance is more rugged but sporty stance remains.

Interior Refreshments

Just like the Fusion sedan, the new 2022 Ford Focus Active Wagon will offer a modern cabin with an interesting design. As this is a wagon version, we expect more room than in the sedan. After all, the dimensions are larger so it makes perfect sense. There will be room for five passengers and the cabin room will be generous enough.

The comfort will be improved as well, so we expect new upholstery. The list of standard features is long and Ford will also deliver a new infotainment system. An 8-inch touchscreen is standard. If you want more luxury, upper trim levels are offering a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, power-adjustable features, and moonroof.

Specs

At this moment, it is hard to predict exact specs. Nothing is official yet so the 2022 Ford Fusion Active Wagon is still a mystery. From what we know, a couple of engines are likely candidates. For a start, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a battery pack will be available. It is a hybrid powertrain, but its specs are not available at the moment.

Another option is a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that is capable of producing 250 horsepower. The hybrid variant will offer a standard AWD system, which is great to hear. Lastly, Blue Oval will provide a standard eight-speed automatic transmission.

2022 Ford Focus Active Wagon Price, Release Date

This crossover-like model will go on sale in the second half of 2021. However, the 2022 Ford Focus Active Wagon could really arrive in 2022 if the Coronavirus pandemic continues for a little while. The price will start at about $30,000. Hopefully, the Blue Oval manufacturer will reveal additional details in the coming months.
