Another intriguing and brand-new model is the upcoming 2022 Ford Ranchero. This pickup truck will be available in dealerships next year as a direct replacement for the Ford Courier. The pickup truck market is expanding, especially in North America. At the moment, the market is dominated by body-on-frame pickups. However, unibody variants are gradually taking over.
As a result, Ford and other well-known manufacturers are moving to unibody production. Ranchero was an icon back in the days and this model makes a lot of sense since reviving older nameplates is a recent trend. The next Ranchero would be a unibody pickup truck that is larger than the Courier but not substantially larger. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Ranchero and its specifications.
EcoBoost Engine Specs
New 2022 Ford Ranchero will probably deploy smaller EcoBoost engines. This is not confirmed, but it is definitely the most likely outcome. For a start, a 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine will be offered as standard. Optionally, a larger 2.0-liter EcoBoost powertrain will be available. On the other hand, some reports are even suggesting a 2.3-liter engine, currently available in the Focus RS model.
As you can see, there are a couple of candidates, but Ranchero will surely focus on efficiency. This means we shouldn’t expect powerful performances from this new pickup truck. Electrification is not on the cards right now, but diesel powertrain will be on offer in South American markets.
Exterior Design
The styling of the 2022 Ford Ranchero remains a mystery. Few renderings are already online, giving us an indication of how the Ranchero pickup would look. The front fascia is seen with a style identical to that of the Ford Escape crossover SUV. Ranchero, on the other hand, would be more rugged and not so premium as the Escape model.
We anticipate a more realistic iteration of smart architecture solutions, similar to the Bronco SUV. Regardless, the majority of Ranchero components would be identical to those of the Bronco. The wheelbase will be available in two lengths, and the crew cab configuration will be on offer too. Ranchero, as previously said, would be larger than the Courier model.
Interior Features
On the inside, the new 2022 Ford Ranchero is once again based on the Escape crossover SUV. Ranchero, on the other hand, would be a low-cost pickup, but we don’t need that amount of comfort. In any case, Blue Oval would have a functional cabin with plenty of interior room.
Ford will almost certainly offer a high level of comfort, but only in the top-tier trim level. The base model has lower-quality fabrics, cotton upholstery, and a smaller display. The Ranchero pickup will come standard with a 7-inch touchscreen and an upgraded SYNC3 infotainment system. It seems like the SYNC4 system will become available in 2023MY.
2022 Ford Ranchero Release Date, Price
The price of the 2022 Ford Ranchero will start at about $20,000. Some reports are even suggesting lower price than that, but Ford is yet to announce more details. At this moment, we know the Ranchero pickup is coming to North and South America. The launch date is not available, but Ranchero will surely arrive later this year.
