The all-new 2022 Ford Super Duty will probably hit the dealerships as the next-gen model. If the latest reports are true, Blue Oval will deliver drastic changes to its Super Duty lineup of trucks. New generation will surely introduce more modern stuff and plenty of novelties. The current generation is here for eight years and the new generation is more than realistic to happen.
However, we are waiting for Ford to confirm those claims, despite reliable sources already reported it. The same sources are predicting new design language that is more competitive. As you know, Super Duty will rival Ram HD and Chevrolet HD trucks. All three lineups are very impressive and we are talking about the best models that you can buy in the United States.
2022 Super Duty Redesign
The upcoming 2022 Ford Super Duty will go on sale with a new design. From what we know, the truck’s dimensions will remain intact, including the shape. Furthermore, the Super Duty lineup will remain aggressive and robust. However, the new design language will provide a more stylish look and a more modern appearance. The platform is also unchanged but cosmetic upgrades are happening.
The front fascia will suffer the biggest changes, including a new grille that looks sharper and it wears more chrome accents. Slimmer headlights are also in the works, along with the wider flared fenders. New exterior paints are what everyone expects to see. Ford will deliver the tailgate step feature and the remote-operated power-locking tailgate system. Tremor package is available as before and Super Duty will also offer the same number of trim levels.
Interior Gets More Tech Features
Interior is perhaps the biggest mystery. The 2022 Ford Super Duty will surely arrive with more tech and better safety ratings. Usually, new-gen models are offering revamped cabins with significant upgrades. We are yet to find out how the new interior will look like.
Blue Oval will most likely opt for new interior color schemes, new upholstery, and larger touchscreens. New Wi-Fi will be able to receive up to ten devices and new USB-C ports are finally available. As for the interior design, additional chrome accents would be great, but we think the layout will largely remain.
Engine Improvements
Unfortunately, it seems like the 2022 Ford Super Duty will stick to its current engine options. That means the Super Duty lineup will offer gasoline and diesel engines. On the other hand, some reports are suggesting more power for the existing powertrains. A 7.3-liter V8 gasoline engine is the best gasoline output in the segment. It can produce 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.
A relatively new 10-speed automatic transmission is offered as standard. However, the highlight of every Ford truck is its 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel engine. The turbodiesel powertrain generates 1050 lb-ft of torque, which is impressive. We are waiting for Ford to release exact specs so we can see exact fuel efficiency or towing capacity figures.
2022 Ford Super Duty Price and Release Date
The price of the 2022 Ford Super Duty should start at about $35,000. Trim levels are not official yet but upper trim levels will surely cost above $50k. We already mentioned the Tremor package that is very affordable and it adds various improvements. The launch date is another mystery but Ford will release the next-gen Super Duty in the second half of 2021.
