The 2023 Ford Bronco Warthog is official and it will arrive later next year. There is a new batch of spy photos available. As previously stated, Ford has great ambitions for the Bronco SUV, and Warthog will be the high-performance variation. The spy images show a muscular Bronco SUV being put through its paces on and off the road. However, fresh spy pictures have sparked several theories, the most vocal of which is regarding the hybrid engine option.
This is a possibility, but nothing is yet official at this time. Additionally, Blue Oval will produce two-door and four-door models of the Bronco, as well as the Bronco Sport. Ford is clearly developing a whole Bronco family, and a pickup truck may be on the way in the near future. As you probably know, Warthog is basically a Raptor variant of the regular Bronco SUV.
2023 Bronco Warthog Spy Shots
Unfortunately, a new series of spy photos confirm what we already know. The 2023 Ford Bronco Warthog will have a more aggressive, sportier appearance. To begin, Warthog’s front grille features bigger “FORD” writing. Additionally, the c-shaped headlights are evident at the initial inspection. Generally, the front fascia seems more aggressive, which works well with the SUV’s muscular appearance.
On top of that, the Warthog variant will include increased ground clearance and chunkier tires. Additionally, a fresh video has surfaced online, showing 37-inch tires with the suspension, which appears to be derived from the Ford F-150 Raptor truck. As with any other high-performance off-road vehicle, skid plates and other off-road features are on offer.
Hybrid Rumors
The newest rumors clearly imply a hybrid 2023 Ford Bronco Warthog. Everything starts with a muscular Warthog SUV with a single exhaust pipe. Ford’s high-performance models usually come only with twin tips. We know this is a prototype, not a commercial model. What is Ford testing? Well, the Blue Oval maker is testing emissions, which is the most logical explanation.
Which engine powers the hybrid prototype? A 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 and 3.0-liter V6 are probable options. The Explorer ST SUV has a 3.0-liter V6, whereas the Lincoln Aviator Hybrid has a 3.0-liter engine with an electric motor that makes 495 horsepower. If the Bronco Warthog truly arrives with a hybrid powertrain, it will undoubtedly produce a lot of power.
Conventional Engine Options
Under the hood, a 2.7-liter turbo-six engine has previously been touted as a viable option. The 2023 Ford Bronco Warthog will generate around 310 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque with this output. Another possibility for this high-performance SUV is a 3.0-liter turbo-six. However, recent rumors indicate that a 3.5-liter turbo-six engine will be on offer.
The F-150 pickup vehicle is powered by the same engine. This engine is capable of 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the same reports indicate that Blue Oval will sell this engine with a lesser output of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft torque.
2023 Ford Bronco Warthog Price, Release Date
The upcoming 2023 Ford Bronco Warthog will surely cost above $50,000. Some reports are predicting a price that starts at around $60,000. Logically, Warthog will rival Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The sales will begin later in 2022.
