The rumors about the 2023 Ford Crown Victoria and its possible return are still here. Honestly, we don’t believe the iconic Crown Vic will make a comeback in the near future. Sometime in the distant future? Probably. However, at this moment, the big comeback sounds like a wild fantasy. Known because of its iconic Police Interceptor model, Crown Victoria is a model with an enduring legacy.
It made a debut in 1979 and this full-size sedan became a true legend, especially after 1990. Nowadays, sedans are not so popular and the world is after modern SUVs and crossovers. Even pickup trucks are becoming a thing outside the United States. Because of this, the comeback is far from likely. Still, some reports are writing about it, we have a couple of interesting renderings, so the speculations won’t stop anytime soon.
Ford Crown Victoria Renderings
We have a couple of interesting renderings. On some of them, the new 2023 Ford Crown Victoria looks like the current Ford Taurus model. With new wheels, a push bar, and recognizable blue and red lights, this Crown Vic looks really modern. It also looks impressive, especially the blacked-out chrome on the Police Interceptor version.
A couple of modern touches such as new headlights and taillights will surely help the new model to make a major breakthrough. According to some rumors, Crown Victoria will remain a full-size sedan, although the architecture will be new. It does look unique, but this iconic model is still just a fantasy for some of us.
Interior Rumors
The interior of the 2023 Ford Crown Victoria will also have to change a lot. We are talking about a complete cabin overhaul. This means Ford will have to make something completely unique. Let’s admit it, you can’t copy Taurus’ interior and paste it on this legendary sedan. Because of that, Blue Oval carmaker will have to deliver new upholstery and a lot of modern touches.
That includes SYNC4 infotainment, a larger display, and plenty of safety features. Like before, Crown Vic will be a full-size sedan with ample interior room, even for the rear occupants. A couple of trim levels would be nice, and at least one range-topping trim level with true Lincoln-like luxury.
Under the Hood
This is another interesting topic. The return of the 2023 Ford Crown Victoria could introduce a potent V8 engine with 500 horsepower. Of course, this is not going to happen. Moreover, if this sedan truly makes a comeback, it would feature a hybrid powertrain option at least.
Still, we can imagine a rear-wheel-drive Crown Vic with a roaring V8 gasoline engine and a lot of power. There are a couple of candidates, especially in Ford Mustang and its various versions. In reality, this model will run on a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with almost 250 horsepower.
2023 Ford Crown Victoria Return Date, Price
It would be crazy to guess or predict the price of the new 2023 Ford Crown Victoria. The speculations are still suggesting a huge comeback, which should happen in the third quarter of 2022. Again, we don’t believe this is going to happen. On the other hand, we’d like to see the new Crown Vic sedan and its Police Interceptor version more than anything else. It would be an instant classic for sure.
