The next 2023 Ford Escape Hybrid will introduce a mid-cycle refresh. This modern and compact crossover is impressive, in every possible way. The Escape model is a very popular crossover and one of Ford’s best-selling vehicles. However, the competition is stronger than ever before.
And while the redesign and other significant upgrades are not on the cars, Escape will gain mild upgrades. The interior is very modern and upright and the exterior still looks fresh and up-to-date. The sales will begin in the second half of next year, so here’s what we know so far.
Spy Shots
As previously stated, the 2023 Ford Escape Hybrid will receive a mid-cycle facelift. As a result, we anticipate some good enhancements in a variety of areas. The styling is the first thing that springs to mind. We anticipate that the new model will include some novelties upfront, such as a new grille, headlights, grille, and even bumper.
The back end should see a few changes as well, including refreshed taillamps. We should also see updates in the form of new exterior paints and new optional features. On the other hand, the mechanical aspects of the Escape crossover should remain relatively the same. Anyway, first spy shots are available, but we couldn’t spot significant upgrades due to the heavy camouflage.
Interior Updates
The current interior design is great, but some rivals are offering even better and more upright cabins. As a result, we anticipate some changes. The current model, for example, comes standard with a modest 4.2-inch LCD screen, although an 8-inch touchscreen is available in higher trim levels.
The 8-inch display should become standard for the 2023 Ford Escape Hybrid, with higher-end models perhaps getting even larger options. A few additional changes to the center stack are probable, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see a new dashboard and digital instrument cluster.
Ford Escape Hybrid Specs
We don’t expect any sort of upgrades under the hood. Thanks to that, the 2023 Ford Escape Hybrid will remain the same crossover in terms of performance. It is the same 2.5-liter inline-four engine paired to an electric motor, producing 200 horsepower. There is also the plug-in hybrid variant with 221 horses as well.
The regular hybrid model delivers 37 miles per gallon combined, while Escape PHEV provides up to 41 mpg. As for the all-electric driving range, this crossover will offer around 27 miles. Of course, you can always opt for a traditional combustion engine. The Escape model is using a reliable 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with 180 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. Still, we think one of the two mentioned hybrid powertrains is a much better option.
2023 Ford Escape Hybrid Price, Release Date
The base Escape model will cost $25,000. However, the 2023 Ford Escape Hybrid will start from $28,000 and move up from there. Changes are not so dramatic, so the price should remain intact. The Blue Oval manufacturer will launch a new 2023 Escape in the second half of 2022.
