The upcoming 2023 Ford Kuga is a complete package. This model really has so much to offer. From the conventional engine options to the mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Moreover, the interior is surprisingly modern and plush. Exterior design is also attractive and Ford provides a beautiful range of exterior paints.
Numerous trim levels are available, so Kuga offers a lot of power, stylish design, and premium interior. On top of that, Ford delivers a couple of special touches for increased luxury. Kuga is Ford’s third best-selling model in Europe. Its sibling, the Escape crossover is available in the United States.
2023 Kuga Exterior Facelift
From what we know, the new 2023 Ford Kuga will receive mild updates. This model already grew in size, so it now offers even more interior room. The reason for dimensional changes is, of course, the new C2 global platform. This architecture will significantly improve ride quality.
Still, styling changes are minor and Kuga will continue to roll on the same 17-inch wheels. However, numerous trim levels are allowing you to customize as much as you want. If you opt for ST-Line or Vignale trim levels, you will get larger 19-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels. Kuga also provides fantastic exterior paints and body-colored exterior elements.
Interior Updates
There will be five trim levels available. The forthcoming 2023 Ford Kuga provides a very modern cabin, regardless of the trim level you choose. Of course, the range-topping ST-Line X and Vignale are the most dominant variants. These two versions are offering leather upholstery, flat-bottom steering wheel, metallic touches, alloy pedals, and much more.
That includes contrast stitching, panoramic roof, ambient lighting, and all-weather floor mats. Tech-wise, Kuga will continue with the SYNC3 infotainment system. An eight-inch display is standard, while there is also a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster. Lastly, Blue Oval will deliver a premium B&O sound system and FordPass Connect technology.
Powertrain Options
The next 2023 Ford Kuga won’t introduce new engine options. However, this isn’t a bad thing at all. Each trim level can be had with a hybrid powertrain. Kuga provides both mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, along with the conventional engine options. For instance, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder PHEV variant comes with a 14.4 kWh lithium-ion battery.
This output develops around 220 hp and it also provides 32 miles of electric driving range. The EcoBlue Hybrid model delivers 147 horsepower, via a 2.0-liter diesel engine. Ford also provides an intelligent AWD setup that is optional in entry-level models. Generally, the performances are impressive, especially the fuel efficiency.
2023 Ford Kuga Price, Release Date
As we said, the 2023 Ford Kuga will have a lot to offer. Still, this crossover costs around $30,000, which is a bargain in our honest opinion. Hybrid models are slightly more expensive. Kuga is a model for Europe, while Ford Escape is the model available in the United States. Blue Oval will launch 2023MY later next year. As before, Kuga will rival Peugeot 3008, Renault Kadjar, and Nissan Qashqai.
