The 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid will go on sale in the second half of next year. Surprisingly, Ford has already sold out of the 2022MY. Given the low cost, this is actually a pretty reasonable consequence. The 2023MY will now receive a minor facelift and will continue to dominate the pickup truck segment. Furthermore, Ford intends to launch a full-fledged sub-brand under the Maverick moniker.
As you may be aware, Blue Oval is already doing the same thing with the Bronco model. According to certain theories, the Maverick will be all-electric. While this is the most likely consequence, it is unlikely to occur in the next year. Anyway, Maverick pickup will gain minor refreshments and will enter the second year of production.
Ford Maverick Exterior Design
The forthcoming 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid is built on the new Bronco Sport, which is based on the Ford Escape’s chassis. Trim levels XL, XLT, and Lariat will all have four doors and five seats. Although the Maverick does not contain bed illumination, a 12-volt wiring assembly is included so that you can install your own.
There are threaded holes for fastening hooks or tie-downs into a channel, as well as an optional 110-volt power outlet and bedside storage. Because not everyone is handy enough to create their own, dealer extras such as a tonneau cover or bed extension will be available. Maverick will be small in size and feature a distinct design language. Cosmetic upgrades, on the other hand, are quite improbable.
Interior Details
The cabin of the 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid is influenced by the Bronco Sport, with an open and minimalist design wrapped in high-quality cloth and plastic. On the inside, the entry-level appears to be quite bare. Each trim level, though, is suitably modern, and comfort is more than acceptable.
Ford has a bigger infotainment touchscreen and other advanced driver-assistance systems. Blue Oval has a plethora of driver-assistance features, the majority of which are standard. Furthermore, the Maverick pickup comes with a variety of driving modes. Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Haul/Tow modes are among them. The interior, as previously indicated, would be able to seat up to five passengers. We are hoping to see a new SYNC4 infotainment system, along with the newest safety aids.
Two Powertrain Options
The upcoming 2023 Ford Maverick’s base XL variant comes with a hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor. This engine has 191 horsepower and it comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Despite the fact that hybrid Mavericks are only available with front-wheel drive, Ford guarantees 40 miles per gallon in city driving, which is comparable to the EPA rating for the Escape Hybrid crossover.
All-wheel drive is standard on the Escape Hybrid, and Ford says it may be introduced to the Maverick hybrid later if demand warrants it. As an option, a nonhybrid turbo-four 2.0-liter engine with front-wheel drive or an optional all-wheel-drive system is offered. It features 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque, as well as an eight-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid version has a towing capacity of 2000 pounds, while the turbo 2.0-liter engine has a pulling capacity of 4000 pounds.
2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Price, Release Date
The new 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid comes with an affordable starting price. There will be three trim levels and the base model will cost $20,000. On top of that, Blue Oval provides optional 4K Tow and FX4 Off-Road packages. New Maverick will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2022.
