The upcoming 2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is getting further improvements. This model is present for almost six decades and now is in the sixth generation. This generation is here since 2015, and since the 2022MY gained minor updates, the 2023MY could provide some significant upgrades. However, if the new-gen Mustang Mach 1 will arrive in 2024, Ford will sacrifice one more year, before more dramatic changes.
There are a lot of rumors around this moment right now, so we’ll have to wait for Blue Oval carmaker to provide official details. The current model arrived with slightly less power. The Mustang Mach 1 is a very powerful car with good ride quality, a modern interior, and numerous optional packages.
Mustang Mach 1 Facelift
As we said, the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1 could get more dramatic upgrades. However, some reliable reports are saying the next-gen model should arrive in 2024. This means the 2023 model year will provide a mild facelift. This is not a bad thing, as the Mach 1 variant already looks astonishing. It is a recognizable Mustang’s styling, but many fans are waiting for something new.
Anyway, this model looks incredibly sporty, wearing Magnum 500-style wheels. Moreover, Mach 1 comes with a shark-nosed front grille and numerous black accents. Ford also provides nice hood stripes and numerous appearance packages. The list of exterior colors is quite impressive and we hope Ford will continue with this tradition in the future.
Interior Changes
The interior of the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is very modern. However, muscle cars are not necessarily luxury models with lots of high-tech features. However, we think Mustang sits above the competition in this category. The cabin is quiet and the ride’s comfort is very pleasing. Still, rear seats are not for adults, and even the kids will feel tight in the back.
Ford will update the infotainment, and we also expect to see additional safety systems. We appreciate the outward visibility and easy-to-use 8-inch touchscreen. The digital instrument panel is optional, although we don’t like how it looks. On the other hand, the optional panel is more useful and functional, no doubt about that.
Powerful V8 Engine Remains
Nothing will change under the hood, as the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1 will continue with the same engine. It is a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine that has numerous different outputs. However, it produces 470 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque in the Mach 1 variant. Interestingly, Ford reduced this output just recently.
We don’t know the exact reason, but it was probably due to emission regulations. The Mach 1 car deploys a 10-speed automatic transmission and it comes with numerous mechanical improvements. That includes Brembo brakes, sporty suspension with adaptive dampers, and Torsen limited-slip differential.
2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Release Date, Price
The price of the current Mach 1 model starts at $53,500. The upcoming 2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1 will only receive a price increase if Ford provides more dramatic updates. However, we think that will happen in 2024. Blue Oval automaker will launch a new Mustang Mach 1 track-focused car in the second half of 2022.
