The 2023 Ford Ranchero is making a comeback. However, this model will not arrive in the United States. Instead, Ranchero will go on sale in South America, at least in the first year of the production. It is another small pickup truck, after the Ford Maverick.
The compact pickup truck segment is on fire right now, with the mentioned Maverick and smaller Hyundai Santa Cruz leading the line. However, Ranchero is a very exciting model, given the fact it is a unibody model. The sales will begin later next year and here’s everything we know so far.
Ford Ranchero Renderings
We don’t yet know what the new 2023 Ford Ranchero will look like. The rendering images are not very reliable, so everything is a rumor at the moment. The depicted Ranchero, on the other hand, has the same styling as the Ford Focus. The pickup truck model has increased ground clearance and a bed. Surprisingly, the Ranchero will have two wheelbases and a crew cab setup.
As previously stated, the Ranchero truck will be built on the same platform as the Focus hatchback. The Ranchero pickup, on the other hand, will gain an enlarged platform, and the new model will be larger than the Courier pickup. More information will be released next month.
Interior Features
The cabin of the 2023 Ford Ranchero is once again based on the Escape crossover SUV. Ranchero, on the other hand, will be a low-cost pickup, so we don’t expect that level of luxury. In any case, Blue Oval will provide a functional cabin with plenty of interior space.
Ford will almost certainly supply luxury, but only in the top-tier trim levels. The base model has lower-quality materials, fabric upholstery, and a smaller display. The Ranchero truck will come standard with a 7-inch touchscreen and an improved SYNC3 infotainment system. We don’t know if the SYNC4 infotainment will be on offer, but this seems unlikely at the moment.
Engine Possibilities
The future 2023 Ford Ranchero will almost certainly include smaller EcoBoost powerplant. As basic engine option, there is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline unit. According to trustworthy sources, a larger 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine will be available as an option. Some reports forecast a 2.3-liter engine similar to the one found in the Focus RS variant.
At the time, we can’t confirm if this is the official engine lineup. The Ranchero model will not be electrified, and the high-performance variety remains a mystery. Diesel is possible, but not in the United States. In South America, Ford will instead sell a diesel-powered Ranchero.
2023 Ford Ranchero Release Date, Price
The standard 2023 Ford Ranchero will cost around $20,000 or slightly less than that. Ranchero, as previously stated, will replace the Courier model in South America and will go on sale next summer. Sales will begin in Brazil, and this small pickup will not arrive in the United States. Of course, this could change in the future, but it is very unlikely in the next two or three years.
