The Taurus model continues to live in some parts of the world. However, the 2023 Ford Taurus and Taurus SHO models won’t go on sale in the United States. As you know, Blue Oval, like many other manufacturers, will stop the production of sedans.
Unfortunately, Taurus is one of the models. And while customers in North America are into SUVs, Europe and Asia are still solid markets for modern sedans. In the last couple of years, Taurus is most popular in China. After all, this model is built in Blue Oval’s facility in Hangzhou.
2023 Taurus Facelift
New 2023 Ford Taurus will introduce minor updates only. Nothing dramatically changed on this sedan in the last couple of years, unfortunately. Still, it is still a nice-looking model with a stylish appearance. It isn’t the segment-leading design, but Taurus is not far from that in our honest opinion. We don’t know if the eight-gen model will arrive anytime soon.
However, there’s no need for a significant makeover just yet. The shield-like front grille remains intact, along with the distinctive headlights and gorgeous side profile. The rear end still sports impressive LED taillights, but Ford could add additional chrome accents and new exterior colors. As for the SHO model, it looks sportier, it offers larger five-spoke wheels and polished exhaust tips. The ride height is slightly lower and this model also comes with numerous badges.
Interior Updates
On the inside, the new 2023 Ford Taurus could gain interesting updates. As you probably know, the new-gen SYNC4 infotainment system is here and this sedan could get one. Of course, this is just a wild guess and nothing is official yet. We think it is a modern cabin design with great high-tech features and a solid list of safety aids.
Upper trim levels are truly premium and are available with a panoramic sunroof and leather seats. On the other hand, even the base trim level seems elegant and the ride quality is great. Besides SYNC4 infotainment, Taurus will gain some of the newest driver-assistance systems.
Taurus and Taurus SHO Engine Specs
The upcoming 2023 Ford Taurus won’t deliver any sort of upgrade under the hood. Hybrid is not an option, yet. This sedan is available with a familiar EcoBoost 2.0-liter gasoline engine. This unit develops up to 240 hp. Some reports are predicting smaller and less powerful engine. Of course, the goal is to offer a fuel-efficient engine, as the current one isn’t as efficient as you might think.
A 3.5-liter is available in the Taurus SHO. This high-performance variant provides 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, Ford offers better engine cooling, modified suspension, and additional driving modes.
2023 Ford Taurus Price and Release Date
The forthcoming 2023 Ford Taurus will once again cost around $30,000. On the other hand, the Taurus SHO version will start at $45,000. The sales will begin later next year, but this cool sedan won’t reach the American shores.
