2023 Ford Torino Comeback Rumors

The return of the Ford Torino model could be on the cards in the following months. The most recent reports are saying that the iconic 2023 Ford Torino will hit the dealerships in the first quarter of the next year. Of course, this is just a rumor, so nothing is official yet. In reality, this model makes no sense at all. The reason is simple: people are into crossovers and SUVs nowadays.

Even pickup trucks are gaining incredible popularity, especially in the United States. Because of that, big car companies are slowly giving up on regular cars, including both hatchbacks and sedans. Still, the return of the Torino car is an interesting topic. This model was popular in the 70s, featuring in movies such as Fast & Furious, Grand Torino, and the television series Starsky and Hutch.

Ford Torino GT

 Recently, we saw the first renderings of the brand-new 2023 Ford Torino. However, the rendered model is Torino GT, a sportier version than the regular Torino. It is a high-performance variant with a more aggressive body. It seems like the rendered model is based on the Ford Mustang S550. The front fascia wears a blacked-out grille with slimmer headlights.

The front bumper is clearly taken from the current Mustang car. The side profile comes with squared-off wheel arches and a recognizable sloping roofline. Even the doors are the same, but Torino GT would surely deploy something different and unique. The Grand Torino model is larger than the Mustang, although it does make sense to build an iconic model around Mustang’s design.

Engine Specs

Without a question, this is the most intriguing thing about 2023 Ford Torino. No one knows for certain which engine will power the all-new model. However, the most recent rumors point to a 2.7-liter V6 gasoline engine. A supercharger allows this engine to produce 320 horsepower and a torque of around 340 lb-ft. On the other hand, don’t anticipate a lot of gas mileage.

Ford will not, logically, create a new engine for its Torino model. Instead, the only logical outcome for Torino is to use an existing powerplant. A 3.5-liter V6 will power the high-performance Torino GT model. This powerful variation produces over 400 horsepower.
