The next 2023 Ford Transit Connect Custom Electric is coming to the dealerships. This model is the best-selling vehicle in the UK and now will gain significant changes. The new model will introduce a redesign, receiving a bolder design. However, the most significant upgrade is the all-electric version that should deliver 236 miles of driving range.
It is the second of Ford’s five commercial EVs that will hit the markets in Europe by 2024. The full-size Ford E-Transit is another model to arrive, which is great to hear. The production will begin this year in Turkey and here’s everything we know at the moment.
Ford Transit Connect Custom Electric Exterior Redesign
Unlike the regular gasoline-powered Transit Custom, the electric one will receive notable cosmetic upgrades. The Ford Transit Connect Custom Electric will gain a new front fascia with a shinier grille. The grille is flanked by completely new LED headlights. The bumpers are new as well, and the right side of the front bumper will gain a charging port.
On the left side of the bumper, there is the “E” badge. Ford will provide new graphics for the headlights and taillights. We also expect to see a new side profile with sharper lines and new wheels. Naturally, new exterior colors are a must for this model.
Interior Changes
Inside the cabin, the new 2023 Ford Transit Connect Custom Electric will receive a couple of important updates. For a start, there is a new SYNC 4 infotainment system. The system comes with a 12-inch touchscreen, which is always a positive thing. We also hope to see additional driver-assistance aids and some of them will come as standard.
Generally, the new model should offer more standard equipment than ever before. The level of comfort will also improve. The Blue Oval carmaker will introduce more upright materials. On the other hand, the battery pack on the floor should reduce the passenger headroom. Still, this model will look modern and it will provide a high level of comfort.
Driving Range, Charging
As for the performance, the new 2023 Ford Transit Connect Custom Electric will be a very potent model. We don’t know that much about the new all-electric powertrain. However, Ford promises impressive performance with 236 miles of driving range. It is the brand’s estimation, so nothing is official yet. Reportedly, this model will employ a 68-kWh battery pack, like the full-size E-Transit.
Furthermore, a DC fast-charging system will be available, but we don’t know if the 115 kW charger will be offered, or if we should expect a less-capable unit. A well-trusted source says the model will provide two outputs, with 181 horsepower and 265 horsepower. Moreover, the Transit Connect Custom Electric will deliver 318 lb-ft of torque and an acceleration from 0 to 60 in seven seconds.
2023 Ford Transit Connect Custom Electric Price, Release Date
The price of the 2023 Ford Transit Connect Custom Electric will begin with the production in Turkey. Ford said that more details will be available this September. That includes the vehicle’s price, official specs, and more. This means the sales should begin in the first quarter of 2023 in Europe.
