The forthcoming 2023 Lincoln Aviator will gain mild updates. However, one upgrade will be significant. It is, of course, an all-electric variant. This version will hit the markets in the first quarter of 2023, according to the latest reports. Interestingly or not, Aviator will be built at the same plant in Mexico as the upcoming Mustang Mach-E electric crossover.
This already suggests that the new Aviator model will sit on a CD6 architecture. Thanks to that, Aviator will become Lincoln’s first battery-powered model ever. Why Aviator? Simply because it is the brand’s best-selling model for years. Here’s everything we know so far.
2023 Aviator EV Specs
The approaching 2023 Lincoln Aviator will reportedly introduce an all-electric version. It will be Lincoln’s first battery-electric vehicle ever. According to many reports, this model will debut in the first quarter of next year, before going on sale later in 2022. So far, we don’t know that much about this model. However, it seems the Aviator EV will definitely sit on the famous CD6 architecture.
On the other hand, a flexible BEV platform is another likely outcome. This platform will provide a more spacious interior and better ride comfort. We expect to see a very modern and stylish SUV with a striking design, larger panoramic roof, and large displays.
Engine Lineup
The new 2023 Lincoln Aviator will be offered with two engine options. The first is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine. This engine develops up to 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, Lincoln has introduced a new ten-speed automatic transmission. Although the rear-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available as an option.
The second option is a hybrid powertrain. The Aviator Grand Touring variant is equipped with a hybrid powertrain capable of a 21-mile all-electric range. In this combination, a normal twin-turbo V6 engine is coupled with an electric motor to produce 500 hp. Naturally, this model provides drastically greater fuel efficiency.
Exterior and Interior
The regular ICE-powered Aviator will gain a couple of cosmetic upgrades. Thanks to that, the 2023 Lincoln Aviator SUV will look even better and more stylish. 19-inch wheels will remain standard, while 22-inch alloy wheels are only available in the Monochromatic Reserve Package. Generally, we hope to see new exterior paints and a couple of nice mid-cycle visual refreshments.
Inside the cabin, Aviator is a premium SUV with so much to offer. A 10.1-inch touchscreen is now standard in the base trim level, along with the tri-zone climate control. Aviator offers a room for seven passengers and the level of comfort is admirable. Still, we don’t know if Aviator will receive any sort of cabin update.
2023 Lincoln Aviator Price and Release Date
The all-new 2023 Lincoln Aviator will hit the dealerships later next year. Moreover, the all-electric version will reportedly arrive at the same time as well. The price for the base trim level should start at around $52,500. A hybrid version will set you at $65,000, so the EV version will cost significantly more.
