The forthcoming 2023 Lincoln Corsair is set for a mid-cycle facelift. First spy photos are already here and we already spotted a couple of surprising upgrades. This crossover will introduce cosmetic updates, but the biggest changes will happen inside the cabin. From what we saw, Corsair will hit the roads with a new center stack and it will also gain more luxury.
Under the hood, Lincoln will provide an efficient hybrid powertrain. Overall, the compact luxury crossover is now ready to tackle more established opponents. The sales will begin in the second half of 2022.
Lincoln Corsair Spy Shots
The spy shots of the 2023 Lincoln Corsair are showing some interesting updates. For a start, this model wears the EPA exhaust system. This system is used on models that are about to receive a new powertrain option. However, this is a mystery, because the Corsair Hybrid variant is not available yet.
Anyway, Corsair will ride on the same C2 architecture as the Ford Escape. Dimensions are intact and Corsair will continue to offer the same tall grille and sweeping headlights. Naturally, you can easily spot the impact of Navigator and Aviator SUVs on Corsair’s exterior design.
Interior Enhancements
The interior of the 2023 Lincoln Corsair will undergo more dramatic changes. For a start, this small crossover will introduce a new center stack. On top of that, Lincoln will provide additional high-tech features. The Active Glide system will be on offer, which is great to hear. Furthermore, Lincoln will offer new driver-assistance aids, an SYNC4 infotainment system, and improved voice recognition. This is not the end, as the manufacturer will certainly deliver a larger touchscreen and a new ventilation system.
Most likely, an eight-inch touchscreen will remain as standard. We don’t know yet, but the new optional unit will be either a 13.2-inch display or a 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen. The comfort is great and the credit goes to front bucket seats. On the other hand, even the rear seats are comfy, but the rear passenger room is far from perfect.
Gasoline and Hybrid Powertrain Options
As for the powertrain changes, the 2023 Lincoln Corsair is currently a mystery. However, Lincoln’s dedication to electrifying its whole portfolio could usher in a hybrid model. Our prediction is that the Grand Touring trim level will surely feature a hybrid powertrain. As you know, Corsair will ride on the same C2 platform as the Ford Escape. Thanks to that, we expect a similar hybrid system.
This means the Corsair crossover will surely produce around or over 250 hp. On top of that, Corsair should deliver at least 30 miles of all-electric driving range. As for the regular Lincoln Corsair, there should be two conventional gasoline options. Reportedly, the regular model will develop around 200 horses, while the optional unit will provide up to 300 horsepower.
2023 Lincoln Corsair Release Date, Price
The forthcoming 2023 Lincoln Corsair will go on sale next fall. This model is assembled at the same factory as the Ford Escape, in Louisville. The price is not available yet, but the base model will cost slightly below $40,000.
