The approaching 2023 Lincoln Nautilus could be the last one. According to the most recent reports, Lincoln plans to end the production of the Nautilus SUV. On top of that, the very same reports are saying Ford will cut its Ford Edge model as well. While this is not official yet, it does make perfect sense. Like the Ford Edge, the Nautilus is also a five-seat mid-size SUV, so the reason is quite simple.
There is simply no room for hatchbacks and sedans in the United States. Moreover, now it seems like the sales of the five-seaters are poor as well. People are into larger three-row family SUVs and pickup trucks. We are waiting for Lincoln to say more about this subject, but the 2023 Nautilus could be the last Nautilus ever.
Could 2023 Nautilus Be the Last One?
This is still just a rumor. However, the 2023 Lincoln Nautilus could be the last Nautilus to leave the factory. Reportedly, Ford plans to ax its Ford Edge and Lincoln could do the same thing with the Nautilus SUV. Interestingly, both models are mid-size SUVs, sitting on the same architecture. Moreover, two models are produced at the same factory as the previously ditched models such as Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT. On the other hand, some other reports are saying the future of the Nautilus is still bright.
Exterior Design
The new 2023 Lincoln Nautilus will receive minor updates only. It is a premium SUV with so much to offer. After the 2022MY redesign, the new one will be visually the same model as the old one. The exterior already appears to be stunning, modern and stylish. The 2023 Nautilus will undergo minor changes as a result of the recent refresh.
That includes a slightly sharper look, especially the side profile. Lincoln could surprise us with unique optional wheels and new exterior paints. However, this SUV will cosmetically remain intact. Dimensions are also unchanged, so Nautilus remains a mid-size SUV.
Minor Interior Updates
The interior of the 2023 Lincoln Nautilus continues in the same fashion. The mid-size SUV will have a slightly revised interior design that more closely resembles that of the new Corsair crossover. The level of comfort is outstanding, and everything inside the cabin looks so premium and stylish. Lincoln offers a relatively new 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Customers will generally like the inclusion of more upscale materials and soft-touch surfaces. According to reports, the new Nautilus will come equipped with the latest SYNC 4 infotainment system. Another unique feature is the multi-level dashboard, which means the maker will almost certainly eliminate a few physical buttons.
Performances
As previously stated, the forthcoming 2023 Lincoln Nautilus will not include any performance enhancements. The premium SUV’s proven 2.0-liter turbo-four engine will remain. This engine is capable of developing 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. If you want additional power, though, a 2.7-liter V6 gasoline engine is the way to go.
The optional engine develops 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are linked to an excellent eight-speed automatic gearbox, as they were previously. The towing capacity is almost 3,000 pounds, and the Nautilus achieves a combined fuel economy of 24 mpg. According to the most reliable sources, a hybrid powertrain is still not a possibility.
2023 Lincoln Nautilus Release Date and Price
The next 2023 Lincoln Nautilus will cost around $40,000 or slightly higher than that. However, the manufacturer has not disclosed more information, including the release date. The new Nautilus SUV is scheduled to arrive on the market in late 2022.
