The upcoming 2024 Ford E-Transit Custom Electric Van is going on sale next year. This cargo hauler will provide around 236 miles of driving range on a single charge. Right now, we saw many details regarding the cargo van variant. However, the passenger version is coming to the dealerships as well. New E-Transit Custom will share a lot of things with the VW Transporter model.
The sales will reportedly begin in the United States and Australia, while Europe will have to wait a little more for this amazing model. It will be a mid-size van, and even models with diesel and hybrid powertrains will become available. Blue Oval will reveal all of the details later in 2022, but we already have lots of info regarding this impressive van.
Ford E-Transit Custom Electric Van Design
The new 2024 Ford E-Transit Custom Electric Van features a very distinctive modified front fascia with a larger nose. On the other hand, it shares most of its appearance with the gasoline-powered variant. The E-Transit receives distinctive LED headlights with a light bar that runs over the front end.
There is also a massive grille that has a stylish design and actually does some cooling duties. Other modifications include a new rear bumper, new LED taillights, and more noticeable bulges on the bonnet. The charging port will sit in the front bumper, just below the headlights. As we said, the new model will arrive as a mid-size van.
Interior Gets Large Touchscreen
Unfortunately, no images of the interior are available at the moment. However, we know that the 2024 Ford E-Transit Custom Electric Van will have a large touchscreen. This unit will run on Ford’s new Sync 4 infotainment system and it will be offered as standard. Most likely, it is a 12-inch unit, which is great. Both the cargo and the passenger variants will offer impressive safety ratings.
We expect ample cargo area, as well as the passenger room, depending on which version you opt for. The new model will largely depart from the previous Transit models, although the idea is very much the same. Naturally, the electric van will come with more premium features, including more high-quality materials and various high-tech amenities.
Driving Range, Charging Time
As we said, the 2024 Ford E-Transit Custom Electric Van will offer a driving range of 236 miles on a single charge. This model will come with a standard 68-kWh battery, although a larger battery should come as an option. There will be two different outputs, per source. The standard variant will produce 181 hp, while the second version will have around 266 horsepower.
The DC fast-charging capability will be in use, which is another positive thing about this model. This van will develop up to 318 lb-ft of torque, but it will have the same towing capacity as the regular Transit Custom. Ford will provide the Pro Power Onboard technology, like on the F-150 Lightning truck.
2024 Ford E-Transit Custom Electric Van Release Date, Price
According to Blue Oval carmaker, the forthcoming 2024 Ford E-Transit Custom Electric Van will be produced in Turkey. It is the Kocaeli factory where Ford builds other vans as well. The same assembly will produce brand-new Tourneo Custom and Transit Courier models. The price is not available yet, but the sales will begin later next year.
