The upcoming 2024 Ford Escape PHEV will continue to dominate the segment. In case you didn’t know, Escape is one of the most popular vehicles in the US. Moreover, its hybrid variant is also extremely popular, due to its affordable price. The next model will be the fourth model in the current generation. The current version received a mid-cycle facelift, which includes a more attractive exterior, updated interior, and new optional packages.
Some reports are saying that the next-gen Escape could be on the way, but this is still not official. Ford Escape is a small crossover SUV, first introduced in 2000. The current generation is on the road since 2020, and this model offers six different trim levels.
Visual Updates
Depending on the generation and trim level, the Ford Escape’s appearance changes. For the 2020 model year, Ford unveiled the fourth-generation Escape, which has a svelte, aerodynamic exterior with LED headlights and taillights. A sloping roofline is instantly recognizable, a liftgate that opens to reveal a lot of luggage capacity in the back, and other features that make it both sporty and practical.
The 2024 Ford Escape PHEV will look exactly like the regular gas-powered version. Therefore, 17-inch alloy wheels are available as standard, with 18-inch and 19-inch rims available as an option. The next model will most likely receive minor visual upgrades and possibly a couple of new colors.
New Touchscreen
From what we know, the next 2024 Ford Escape PHEV will offer a 13.2-inch touchscreen. This is not official yet, but it seems like the big interior upgrade is on the way. Since the 2024MY should gain small updates only, this one is huge. With the new touchscreen comes an updated infotainment system. On top of that, Blue Oval will provide new safety systems and optional packages.
On the other hand, this new 13.2-inch display will be available as an option, most likely. Only the range-topping trim level will offer it as part of standard equipment. Besides that, we expect to see minor cabin updates.
Ford Escape PHEV Specs
First of all, the Escape crossover is available with 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter engines. The first one produces around 180 hp, while the second engine develops up to 250 ponies. The 2024 Ford Escape PHEV is also an option, and it is a very popular choice among customers. This hybrid system combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a pair of electric motors. It generates 220 horsepower, which is more than enough.
The Escape Hybrid also offers an 11.2-kWh battery, which allows almost 40 miles of all-electric driving range. An eight-speed automatic transmission is on offer, and the new 2024 Escape PHEV will most likely have an AWD system. Ford will most likely deliver a small performance upgrade, so expect slightly better mpg ratings.
2024 Ford Escape PHEV Price and Release Date
The approaching 2024 Ford Escape PHEV will remain a popular buying option because it is an affordable model. The base hybrid version will be available for less than $35,000 once again. The exact price is not revealed yet but expect a minor price increase. The sales will begin later in 2023, so we’ll share more details in the following months.
