Electrifications are happening all around, 2024 Lincoln Aviator will most likely follow suit. Since Ford and Lincoln are working together on many projects. We expect Lincoln to borrow some ideas and components. Electrification is bound to happen sooner or later. Mostly because that is where the automotive industry is going but also because of emission regulations. Lincoln announced three new EVs by 2025 and one more in 2026. They should have a fully green fleet by 2030.
The platform will be new, but it won’t be the same as Mustang Mach E’s one. However, they will probably share the battery and some other components. Let’s see in better detail what the new Aviator will look like.
Interior
The interior of the 2024 Lincoln Aviator should be modern. However, it’s not yet known whether this particular model will include two or three rows of seats. Unofficial sources claim that the inside of the EV will resemble the cabin of the Lincoln Zephyr vehicle. Therefore, we can anticipate two rows of seating and space for only five passengers, but with plenty of legroom. The identical electronic instrument cluster and sizable infotainment display are other features we anticipate it to have.
Standard equipment should also include satellite radio, Wi-Fi, USB-A and USB-C ports, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay smartphone compatibility, and at least a 10-speaker audio system. Hopefully, we get hands-free driving, since they are on good terms with Ford we might even get BlueCruise. This would allow drivers to relax a bit behind the steering wheel.
Exterior
The outside of the 2024 Lincoln Aviator will get a complete redesign. We still expect it to resemble its predecessors. The front fascia will be changed. No internal combustion engine means no front mesh. Under the hood, we have extra cargo space. Big 18-inch lightweight rims are probable, hopefully, lightweight material. Headlight design will probably remain the same as well. The slated roof will stay the same. A lot of exterior changes we expect it to get from the Lincoln Star Concept SUV.
2024 Lincoln Aviator Engine
This is bound to be the first electric Lincoln on the market. The 2024 Lincoln Aviator will share the battery with the Mach E from Ford. After all, they have been collaborating a lot recently. However, they won’t share the same production facility. The platform will have to be changed to accommodate all the electrical components. Of course, they will be placed under the cabin for better balance and handling. However, we don’t have a lot of information about the specifications of those components. The battery pack size and everything else are still a secret.
We are waiting of course for the official announcement from Lincoln. In the meantime, we can only speculate. A good suspect for the battery pack is the same one from Mustang Mach E. This means around 100 kWh battery. This also means good range and horsepower. The range isn’t too great but it has 480 horsepower with over 600 pound-feet of torque. That should spin the wheels properly.
Of course, the size of this SUV will affect the range. But hopefully, there is a bigger battery because no one likes stopping for charging their car too often. Fast charging needs to be implemented. We believe that Lincoln will use a dual motor setup. There are instances of even four motors, one for each wheel. But most likely it is two electric motors, one for each axle. This improves power distribution and makes the SUV perform better. Hopefully, there are more information about the new Aviator soon and they shed some light on the powertrain options.
Range
We do know that the new 2024 Lincoln Aviator is going green. But we don’t know the battery pack or anything else about the powertrain. If the battery stays the same as in Mach E that means 240 miles. That sounds suboptimal and we are hoping for a more powerful battery and better range. But until we get more info it is all speculation.
2024 Lincoln Aviator Price and Release Date
The new 2024 Lincoln Aviator SUV is scheduled to arrive later in 2023. Perhaps even the start of 2024 depending on problems with production. Starting price is estimated at around $75000. This is an amazing bang for your buck when you consider what you get at that price tag. The main competitors are Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90.
