Not so long ago, we wrote about the Nautilus model and its end of production. However, the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will continue its journey. For a start, the next-gen Lincoln Nautilus and Ford Edge will not arrive in the United States.
Instead, two crossovers will live on in some other parts, more precisely, in China. And while the Ford Edge will heavily borrow things from Ford Evos, Nautilus will be based on the new Lincoln Star concept. The first spy photos are already here, so let’s dive straight into it.
Lincoln Nautilus Spy Images
The next-gen 2024 Lincoln Nautilus has been spotted, firstly in Michigan and then in Europe. All spy photos are showing a heavily camouflaged prototype, so we don’t know what exactly this new crossover will look like. However, the front fascia clearly resembles the Lincoln Zephyr model.
That includes similar thinner headlamps and a wider diamond-shaped pattern on the grille. Furthermore, there is a recognizable wheel design. The all-new door-mounted handles are also easy to spot. The crossover will ride on the Ford C2 platform, which isn’t a surprise at all.
Lincoln Star Concept
According to Lincoln, the goal is to provide three new EVs by 2025. Furthermore, the plan is to electrify all of the brand’s vehicles by 2030. Thanks to that, the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus is a very likely candidate for an all-electric model. Still, we think it is perhaps too early, as Lincoln has more important models in his portfolio. In any case, future vehicles will be based on the Lincoln Star Concept, and Nautilus is no different. This concept is a clear direction Lincoln wants to follow in years to come. Some styling cues are already visible on models such as Corsair.
Longer and lower is what Lincoln tries to achieve, despite the Star Concept will influence both two-row and three-row SUVs in the future. A full-width LED matrix will dominate the front fascia. Moreover, future models will wear more glass. Inside the cabin, expect nothing but luxury. Nautilus could gain a curved dash with at least one huge display. The manufacturer will also provide three modes for the infotainment system: Coastal Morning, Evening Chill, and Mindful Vitality. Each mode offers a nice mix of lighting and audio scenes in order to relax the driver and the rest of the passengers.
Possible Engine Specs
It is perhaps too early to say which engine will power the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus. Whatsoever, this model continues to live in China, so it will surely depart from the US-spec Nautilus in many ways. The currently available model has a potent 2.0-liter gas engine, developing 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. There is also an optional 2.7-liter V6 unit with 335 hp and a torque of 380 lb-ft.
Both engines are unlikely candidates for the Chinese Nautilus. While it is early to speculate, Nautilus in China will definitely provide less power than in the United States. Hybrids are another possibility, but the all-electric Nautilus won’t arrive in the next three or four years.
2024 Lincoln Nautilus Release Date and Price
Nautilus is still on sale in North America, but the current model could be the last one ever produced. Luckily enough, the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will live in some other parts of the world, including China. The sales should begin in the latter stages of 2023. The carmaker will reveal more details in the coming months, including info about the engine lineup and the vehicle’s price.
