There are some fantasy crafts. When you mix two high-end versions the Blue Oval company has to offer, you get the 2025 Ford Raptor GT. Besides the nameplate, we don’t know what else to expect from this craft. Is it a truck with the GT features? Or is it a muscle car with off-road Raptor options? There are speculations about both versions, but it seems more realistic to see the high-performance truck with a 5.2-liter V8 engine and sporty upgrades.
The 2025 Ford Raptor GT sounds cool, but keeps too much room for speculations. Also, the mix is hard to imagine. It is even hard to believe the Raptor GT model can happen. Nevertheless, we checked the rumors and here are the opinions.
2025 Ford Raptor GT Engine
Raptor was the special package for the F-150 truck. Now, the trim is also available for a smaller Ranger. Before it, we saw the Bronco SUV in the Raptor variant. The most famous version, F-150, uses a high-output 3.5-liter V6 engine with 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. The latest version features a hybrid support with a bit less power, but more than 10% extra power.
The GT trim is not going to be combined with less potent configurations of the Ranger and Bronco. A couple of V8s are the most likely option if this vehicle ever happens. If the company decides to go with the car and its drivetrain, it will be a 5.2-liter supercharged eight-cylinder mill. You can expect this setup to burst around 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque. The same configuration is available for the Mustang GT500 ponycar.
If the company is uses a truck as the base and upgrades it with GT features, then a 5.2-liter engine is producing 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. This build is there to compete with Ram TRX. Ford’s rival can tune its 6.2-liter supercharged mill to deliver more than 800 ponies. If the 2025 Ford Raptor GT happens, then you won’t wait for too long to see the Dodge Charger TRX.
Car With Off-Road Capability
This model is unlikely for many reasons. The combo of GT and Raptor packages is somehow hard to imagine. Another one is that Ford dropped all other cars from the production and the Mustang is the last one. Even the non-US factories are cutting down the production of cars. Fiesta is the latest car to be out of the lineup.
So, what would be the goal of the 2025 Ford Raptor GT? Only show off. The GT500 car is already impressive build, and with the Raptor package, it would be a Frankenstein. Furthermore, the off-road cars are not a segment where you can achieve a lot of sales. Companies are making such vehicles for rally races, but the Raptor is a different breed. Fiesta and Focus achieved had a lot of success in the past and Ford made partnership with new companies. In the next few seasons, you will find the M Sport upgrades. Also, the performance of WRC cars is far away from something a mighty V8 can do.
