The first reports about the new generation of Super Duty trucks are here. Let’s check them and see what truckers love about these hard workers and what can be improved. Ford is already preparing the first updates. Those won’t be big, so the entire 2025 Ford Super Duty squad will be pretty much the same.
The company is introducing itself to the heavy-duty class with the F-250 model. It is a cool option if you don’t need maximum towing capacity and want to save some money. The entry-level trim won’t impress anyone with accessories. It is plain and built to work. The situation is the same on higher-end configurations. The F-350 offers a dual-rear-wheel setup and exceptional towing capacity thanks to a massive torque. Compared to the competition, Ford also offers the F-450 model, which adds a few goodies atop the F-350.
2025 Ford Super Duty Specs
The 2025 Ford Super Duty class uses both petrol and diesel engines. For the maximum towing capacity, you will need an oil burner. While such plants are being discontinued in other segments, no one mentions that in the HD truck world. Still, the F-250, for example, is not offering maximum outputs. A 6.7-liter Powerstroke turbodiesel is capable of bursting 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque, but that is available only for the High Output package. The towing capacity could be pushed even closer to the 40,000 lbs mark in 2025.
A petrol engine is a new 7.3-liter V8. Many see this plant as a perfect choice for the Ford Excursion heavy-duty SUV. With this unit, drivers can get 430 hp and 470 lb-ft. A ten-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels. Both gas and diesel engines can also get 4WD.
2025 Ford F-250
The F-250 is the entry-level version of the 2025 Ford Super Duty class. It offers pretty much the same options like other editions but also comes with unique features. For example, the Tremor package is exclusive here. It enhances off-road capability. However, the F-250 is not getting maximum power and torque outputs, so the towing capacity is lower than for the F-350 and F-450. On the other hand, it costs less.
F-350 and F-450 Offer Dually System
There are a few differences if you select F-350 or F-450 models. First, diesel engine on these configurations can deal 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft if you want to upgrade them with a High Output package. Even without it, the Powerstroke unit can do 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft. If you want your truck to haul nearly 40,000 pounds, the High Output is needed, as well as the dual-rear-wheel drive, or a popular dually setup. The petrol engine doesn’t support the DRW configuration. A 10-speed automatic transmission is a power router for both powerplants.
2025 Ford Super Duty Trim Levels
Three models are available, and each F-250, F-350 and F-450 will offer 6 trim levels. The entry model is XL. The package comes with steel wheels, an 8-inch screen, trailer sway control and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The XLT grade uses larger 18-inch alloy wheels. Power-adjustable mirrors and driver’s bucket are also standard on this trim. Safety package adds auto emergency braking and warning for impending collision.
Lariat is a mid-range offer packed with nice equipment. It includes LED lights (including bed lighting), parking sensors, remote start, leather seats with heating and cooling, and power-adjustable pedals. Steering wheel is also heated. Here you’ll find even more multimedia upgrades, including 12-inch screen, navigation, wireless charger, 360-degree camera… Still, 2025 Ford Super Duty King Ranch beats this easily. Notable upgrades are power tailgate, 20-inch wheels, special leather for the package, B&O sound system with 18 speakers, HUD, power outlet, and advanced safety options. Lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and on-board scales that monitor payload weight are standard. Platinum is a very similar grade. Only few additions are added over the King Ranch version.
The Limited edition packs trucks with the best options. That includes a standard diesel engine. Premium upholstery is available in two-tone shade. The cabin features power sunroof and synthetic headliner. There are a few things left for an optional upgrade. For example, you can boost an off-road performance with FX4 bundle. The F-250 Tremor is even meaner model. The Raptor is not coming for the 2025 Ford Super Duty trucks.
Price
Small upgrades are possible for the 2025 Ford Super Duty. Additional options will make the price go up a bit. So, the new entry-level F-250 XL could cost $45,000. The F-350 is $1,000 more expensive, while the F-450 comes with a diesel engine and costs $10,000 more. Heavily-loaded Limited model will slip into a six-digit price world. Lariat is favorite package since King Ranch and Platinum are way more expensive. In the foreseeable future, an SUV could join the Super Duty lineup. Ford is planning to bring back Excursion.
